Quartz counter tops
Comments (49)We've only had our Cambria quartz counter top for about 1 month and I LOVE it!! I did want more of a shine but find it is not very shiney at all : ( But is sounds like more prefer the less shinier type. Around here the popular ones are Oxford, Nottingham and Victoria from what the dealer told me. I like them too and thought that one of those would be my choice but ended up choosing the new Cranbrook Quarry series just because it went better with the cabinets. Preston and Brownhill were also very nice. I was able to take the small 4"x4" sample home for a few days to decide. I can barely see the seem and love how it cleans. Haven't put anything REALLY hot on it, like a slow cooker, and probably won't just because I'm scared to LOL. Here are some pics.......total cost $5700 (install & tax)...See MoreQuartz counter top questions
Comments (35)When people say that quartz looks like "fake" stone it always makes me scratch my head. For me, I love it because it is clean and uniform--if I wanted "real" stone with the variability that comes with real stone, I'd choose granite or marble. Saying it looks like fake stone is like saying that cork looks like fake wood. Two very different materials, two very different looks. Neither one is better--it's what style you prefer. Exactly! But I have found that many people try to sell quartz counters saying they look like granite but are better/easier/tougher (which I think has already been addressed above). Some of their colours do appear to be in fact imitating the look of real stone. I don't think they do well at that, but I totally agree with you that it's a great choice if you want a uniform or clean look or their vibrant colours....See MoreIm in the market to get new quartz countertops, need help
Comments (8)Failed seam, heat damage, customer abuse, no seam support. Failed seam, no seam support. Heat damage customer abuse. ardcp is correct. When it comes to budget, granite is hard to beat. In the repair business, you're always evaluating cost effectiveness. I told the potential customers whose pictures are above that I could repair these Avonite glass series countertops for about $750.00 with a 1K cap. They told me they could get new granite installed for $1,200.00. In all fairness, that's a plop-'n-run price, but even adding tear-out, disposal, new sink, and plumbing they're still around 2K. Since he's kinda handy, I doubt I'll be hearing back from them....See MoreHelp, what brand of white quartz countertop for my new galley kitchen?
Comments (14)Well, looked at Corian yesterday, some were good, but learned it can scratch easier than quartz. So, today, I narrowed down to 3 whites. Vicostone "Pure White", MetroQuartz '"Absolute White" and Silestone "Iconic White" in Suede N-boost finish, since the polished is too white. They all look good with the new cabinets. Fabricator/company where I'm purchasing from said, they are all very similar in quality and manufacturing. They feel however, that Silestone Brand is a small step above the other 2 brands. Well, the MetroQuartz, which I had never heard of, matches perfectly with the high gloss acrylic cabinets, and the Silestone came in lots more $$$. Is MetroQuartz a good choice and trusted brand? I also like the Vicostone. How do I decide?...See MoreRelated Professionals
