Some people will just stick them away some place safe and dry, others will stick them in soil and perlite for the winter. If it were me, I would allow them to callous then pot them up. Do you have a heat mat? Bottom heat is most important when it comes to cuttings. Allow to callous for a couple of weeks if they aren't already calloused. Apply rooting hormone and pot in clear plastic 16 or 20 ounce water bottles. (You can see when they root.) Poke drain holes in the bottom. Different people use different soils. Many of us use 1 part soiless mix, 1 part perlite. Some of us use the egg method. You can do a search on this forum. During the growing season, we would water once, and then not again until you see roots. Hopefully someone else will come along and give advice on watering your cuttings at this time of year. Maybe just a little water, maybe water as you normally would a cutting? I think it's important to get more advice on this one. When I rooted my first cuttings it was during the winter and I watered. But I was a newbie and lucky all turned out good. LOL Keep warm, heat mat would be ideal.

If the bulbs are still viable (firm; no signs of soft spots or rot), probably just some foliage later in the season. If you allow the foliage to grow and ripen properly and the protect the containers over winter from freezing, then it is likely you will see normal daffodil behavior - including flowers - next spring

I made some calls Friday to find the best rate for shipping my hostas and heuchies to Baltimore. Busfreighters wanted $625. Fedex wanted $412. I know the replacement cost for my hostababies would be over $700, so just figured Fedex would just be part of the cost of moving. Then, quite unexpectedly, I got a call Friday afternoon from my friends Mimi & Joe. They have been absolutely wonderful to me over the years, helping me with some household repairs I couldn't do myself. Are you sitting down, Hostapeople? Mimi said that they'd be happy to load up all my potted hostas in their large SUV and drive them to my place in Baltimore after I am moved in! And if it took 2 trips to get them all down there, they'd do it. Can you believe such kindness? I was literally reeling after I got off the phone! I had to share this with you. BTW, I intend to place the fabric potted hostas on the wire shelving units I purchased for them, on the balcony. Do I need to protect them from the winter, as they will not be sunk into the ground, and if so, what should I do? Thanks.
