Hi Mike, I think everyone is busy. I miss everyone too. A big storm just blew in with a big burst of wind. When I was away last weekend I almost baked everything in the greenhouse even though I left the window on the door open part way. It got to 120°F in there. It was so steamy as the hydrofogger was running full out to keep up the humidity. I have to get that thermostat fixed but I have to move a lot out to get the electrician in : > ) My trees roots are wet but all the leaves are drooping now. Got a lot of leaf drop too. I put the new ones outside hoping they will like the fresh air and perk up. I'm not sure how they will fare in this wind though. We are supposed to get thunder and lightning too. I'm glad to hear your mother is feeling better. HD restocked the pots I bought last week for the new trees. I needed 3 more, and hadn't expected to find them again. Hopefully the new drill bit I bought will drill holes in the pots easier than the ones I was using last week. Have your frogs fattened up yet?

Mike, you didn't do anything. I have been struggling with some personal issues and it has nothing to do with anyone here. As you know I had some health issues as well. . I miss you guys and will talk to you once I get everything sorted. So please be patient with me. Hi Cory. Love your new trees. It will be nice when we all get back here . I miss you all. i send much love. Maggy

Thanks for the link...I didn't realize they existed only in the eastern US...I had them confused with the locusts/grasshoppers. Interesting that there are still things biologists don't know about them...guess they are excited to have them emerge for new research! josh

Yep, cicadas. That's the skin that is left behind after it crawls out of the ground and molts, after spending 13 to 17 years there! The adults don't even have mouths. The male will sing to attract a mate, then the females will cut slits in small tree/bush twigs and lay their eggs. After the eggs hatch, the little larvae burrow down into the ground and suck on tree roots for another 17 years. Eric

Hi Maggy and Brian, so here is what I found. The rootball had not changed in size since I repotted a year ago and there are no white roots. They are all gold and brown. There were no roots along the sides and in no way was it potbound. However, the dirt inside the root ball was like cement, we had to really work to get it out and we had to soak it. When I repotted last year, I did not barefoot it, so it's been like this all this time. So we barerooted it and repotted. Another thing I learned is that I was sip watering all this time. The 5-1-1 mix is awesome. Now the tree is a bit wilty but it looks like it does when it was in the sun for awhile. And the wind is blowing hard so we will put him in the GH tonight. That was very invasive, I had no idea you could do that. I did everything you suggested so now I wait and see. What should I expect in the next couple of days? Anything special I should or should not do? Thanks so much, again!!! You guys are awesome and so wonderful!!! Laura Xoxo

Golly Mike I thought it was me that caused the ruckus. I have had no visible changes in my trees to show and have disappeared as a result of work and family pressures.

Hi Mike. It was nice when we were all posting and sharing. Don't get upset Mike. Sometimes it is not worth the aggravation I know what you mean.

Can you believe it is snowing here. It is freezing cold. My trees are glad to still be in the greenhouse. At least I have the water turned on now. Getting lots of fruit. I hope it gets warmer before we go away. I have had to canel physio the past week . I think I will cancel tomorrow and go back next week.

Hope your Mom is feeling better. Hugs? Maggy

    Hi Mike.

First I would like to thank all of you for your positive comments on my Plants.

when I compliment you on your nice plants I am happy that things are going well for you. If you all thank me for my compliment the thread gets longer and more complexity. I can not follow and I get lost with whats current. The same thing happens if I thank all of you for your compliments this too lengthen the thread to the point I loose things. I do however thank others for their compliments when I put in My nest entry. This way the threads can be as much as 1/4 the length. It is necessary for me to keep these threads as short as possible

We all seem too have major problems with an aging parent. Everyone of us know what the others are going through. I simply can not keep up with these writings or share on my troubles here. While I don't get colds or flu, I never feel down under or get a simple headache but generally feel good every day. I do have significant. medical problems that must be contended with every day. It would be impossible for me to get involved at this detail level.

Mike, sometimes there is just so much going on in our lives it is hard to find time to write much or even keep up with the conversation here. It is always nice to hear from everyone though.

Maggy, I am just noticing I have no light in my lower oven. That is not a good sign as I have hardly used the new range yet. What a nuisance. The upper oven light is on though. I doubt it would be the bulbs already, but I hope it is something minor like that. It seemed strange to me that the top and bottom lights are on at the same time. I would have thought you could light each oven separately.

Maggy, I hope your asthma is a little better. Mine is a little better today. Imagine snow! I hope we don't get that cold as I put some of the new trees out after them getting baked the other day. I have to watch the temperatures carefully though as the mid-30s are forecast for the rest of the week at night and only 50° during the day. My left knee is bothering me so I am procrastinating carrying them back inside. I was hoping to put plants out so I could get the exhaust fan thermostat fixed. I want to mow the lawn to keep the weed plants from expanding. I have a creepy type with shiny yellow flowers that creeps underground and gets everywhere even though I pull it out. Now it is taking over my lawn. It dies back after it blooms, and another one that has a similar flower but different leaves takes its place in summer. I am hoping if I keep its leaves cut back the grass will over power it. No such luck though. I thought I got it all out of the grass last year but it is everywhere again. It has little bublets. I forget what it is.

Cory, you are so right about so much going on sometimes. It is strange that your lower oven light is out. Perhaps the bulb is loose. That has happened to me a few times. I have the same the same creeping flowers on my lawn and can't get rid of it. I think they call it " creeping Charlie" . We can't get rid of it as it has an underground system.

My asthma is better but I got really sick from the drugs . I was totally incapacitated physically and got really depressed .my attacks are more frequent and not as controlled as I like. I see the asthma clinic Dr. Once a year . He says " your fine, you have asthma, suck it up " but I am not very happy with the treatment. It is not working very well . I am going to ask my Dr. About sending me to a specialist. I think there are better treatments available. I am very pro active and am very careful . But a common cold can set me back for weeks. It affects my quality of life .

Your new trees are so nice. It must be exciting to get new ones. It is freezing here tonight so no hope of getting my trees outside yet. Take care Cory. Hope you get your exhaust fixed and that all is well. Maggy

Hi Cory. I just checked back at the lovely trees you got from 4 winds. and just now notice the nice potting and stand set up. You had mentioned how tiring the drilling was. A flash of memory of a Sarah Palin quote flash down through my keyboard and I forgot to let you how attractive I thought they look. If you have pictures of you Harris citrus trees I would like to see them. I would also like to thank you for your compliment on my trees.

Maggy sorry to hear your still not feeling good. Are you all packed up ready to go ? Cory sorry to hear you almost lost more plants . This kind of work I don't mind I Love being outside , that's what I did last weekend . The maple trees are starting to bud but that's about it . My citrus are doing great lots of flowers and my lychee is now coming out of hibernation lots of new growth. Mikey did you take your fig trees out yet? , I will probably take mine out next week . Mikey looks like you and I are going to be in for the same weather this spring Yuk . The last patch of snow finally melted last weekend exciting. Just repotted 4 more trees. It's going to the low 30s for the next few nights so I brought all the citrus trees I had outside back in again. This time I arranged things a little better so I have one aisle at least to squeeze down. The ones that were outside don't look good. I guess it is still too cold.

Brian, hey..I hear ya.They are saying that the east might be prone to get this very chilly winter for another year week after week while California and the west burns up...Hum, I think I remember predicting this last year...It's scares me..low 30's tonight and now everything is going to freeze after is started to grow. I have to bring plants in tonight too..Arg. My Figs are all leafing out and now I have to bring them in..I just wish the nights would stay in the 40's like it is suppose to be.I am sorry you are going through a lot too..We should chat sometime..) Lot's of work in the yard..I planted my Ginger plants along the pond now just to dig them back up.I can't believe that the snow finally melted there..Sheesh! It looks like a late season for you too..I hope this is not the norm for the next ten years or so while the Anartic and Alaska melt away...
So, my figs are all outside and I did set up a temporoary plastic greenhouse with most of them in there..I open the front to keep them use to the sun as the leaves open up, and use a mini space heater at night on low, just for a couple of weeks to give them a head start earlier than usual..This year I plan to finally get ripe figs!
Lololol..Are you sure you used deodorant today???lolololol

Maggy, hello..I am so sorry your lungs just are not doing what they are suppose to do..Arg..You must get scared at times my friend...Since we talked this morning, I will say this and move on, but know that we love you hear..Get strong, please, and thanks for the kind words..

Cory....I HATE WEEDS...LOL.. I wish grass grew just as strong as crab grass for Pete's sake! Someone hear made a bigger deal out of me worried about everyone, but that is al set..I think he gets that I was only musing and missing everyone,..It's all good..I did mention earlier that I loved your new plants and I mentioned other stuff..When you get time, go back and read it since I don't want you to miss out..You are in my prayers and I hope we chat soon..Stay warm for what's it worth..I think you are running below normal too,,,Crazy! Cory, is this weather even normal for late in April? I mean days of sub freezing weather? No one has even got their gardens started yet, the trees are not even budded, and I can't see a one bulb coming up yet..The Crocus are just coming upi and they are suppose to be up in the middle of March

Have a wonderful evening my good friends..If I could spread myself out and help you all I would, but we all have ears here and that is a comfort!

P.s..Lowes, all my nurseries. and Home Depot have thousands of perennials and annuals, flowered out trees and shrubs..I wonder how they will have those plants?

My last and final citrus graft.

The roots from nagami are gone and the top of pt is gone

I have about 50 hours of time in this graft. If it lives and grows it is still my last graft . I have gotten rid of all my other rootstock.

My plants had to come in for our 31F last night. They have to stay in another night.

    !9 pepper plants 8 figs.

&month old fig tree from 3 inch rooted cutting

Bringing them in was a real pain.

Mike I do enjoy the company here. I am going to limit my involvement to a level I can process. and enjoy.

I realize this is a citrus forum but I can not get any pictures of my citrus trees at this time.

    My rhubarb.

    Its Pie time

I'll be picking peppers by mid may

Best of growing to all of you.

Steve, Here is a picture of the Harris trees before repotting. I will have to take a picture of them repotted.

Your plants look great. Too bad you had to move everything back in. It is a lot of extra work. I had to do the same, but I brought all my potted camellias together near the house foundation and covered them with blankets and a tarp. I hope they will be ok. I have about 20 of them and since my knee is bothering me decided it was too much to bring them back into the basement. My spinach and garlic is out. Maybe I should cover it. They will probably be ok. The citrus is what I was worried about and I fit them all back in the greenhouse and all the droopy ones have perked up again. These late freezes are a pain.

I just went out and covered the spinach and garlic with bubblewrap. I also found two nobile dendrobiums and brought them in too. Hope I didn't miss anything else.

It sure is a nice tree. I have always been amazed how well the pictures take at night. The flash lights up the subject but nothing in the back ground. I an sorry to hear of more freezes in your area. My last frost here was march 28, 2015. We dropped to 30F morning of 4-23 and 31F morning of 4-24. I don't see frost until 29F. All my in ground tomatoes beans and peppers survived. Cincinnati is classified as heavily damaged. If my last frost is late November 24 (possible) I will have a typical growing season of central Georgia. I will be going to church and will ask for congregational prayers for main for California with heat and sun moving north east to us.

Maggy I apologize for the wrong choice of words.

I happen to love quality soap operas. This thread is the longest thread between a group of dedicated people growing citrus trees as well as many other plants. I myself am a 2 trick pony. Citrus and figs. I did change the wording above in hopes that no one else will see and be offended.

Hi Mike. Thank you for your kind comments. Hope you are having a good day. I was in my greenhouse today, watered and fed my plants . It went to 90 degrees in there . It was like a tropical forest. I will post some pictures. How is your Mom feeling? Better I hope. Next week the low will be in the 50's so I will be able to get the trees outside before we go away. I am getting excited about the trip now that it is closer. Are your frogs out lately? I know you have seen them. Where do they go in the winter? Have a great evening. Hugs Maggy

Hi Mike, I am quite pleased with my trees ,this being my first time overwintering. The greenhouse worked well for me and the solar cover was such an asset . We didn't seem to have much of an increase in our electric bill. I am looking forward to seeing pictures of your trees. Mike my asthma is getting better. Still coughing a bit but am getting out more now. I am going to ask for a referral to a specialist because I think there are better treatments available. I hope Cory is o.k. She has not responded to my posts either ,maybe she is not seeing them. Brian has had a lot going on and I know he is thinking of us . He will be back when he can I am sure. It is cold here as well. A week from Sat. We are going to Portugal. The weather is warm there now. Hope you are having a great day my friend. Hugs Maggy

Hi guy's. Man do the weekends go fast it seems all we do is work even when we are home . Mikey the weather is getting nicer I even have a few of my citrus outside , going to wait a few more weeks to bring out the rest sure enough we will have another frost . How have you been doing buddy? . I worked in the GH yesterday so that I would be able to move around in there , took a couple of plants out of there my Satsuma and murcott mandarin and my killer key lime that always attacks me with its big thorns , everytime I water I get all cut up and scrapped by that thing no matter how hard I try not to . I hope that your mom is doing fine I am sure she is pretty sick of this cold weather to . Glad the frogs are OK , your going to have to take a pick of them when they are flat . I see you brought your figs outside good for youthey don't mind a little cooling time., I think tonight i will bring mine outside its so darn heavy you can' t believe it and we have to wrap it in a blanket so it doesn'scrape all our walls .Maggy have you packed all your bikinis yet , your trip is coming up very quickly Sooo jealous . Actually we will be on holidays in a couple of weeks but really no holiday lots of work to do in the backyard but still we will be at home . In the next couple of weeks all the Nurseries will be getting in there shipments . I am so hoping that The Home Depot get more citrus in , exciting times for sure. Even the local Nurseries get some citrus . The weather sounds like it's going to break for you . I guess you will be taking your plants out very soon.. Maggy your trees look amazing darling your good!!! Cory your magnolia tree is stunning beautiful . Have you ever seen a tulip tree another stunning tree in the spring . Do you have your plants out yet . Here its around 40 degrees at night but that's not going to hurt them.

    Hello everyone.

Mike I am reading all your posts. Just busy for much writing sometimes. I like reading about your garden and what's going on. Just don't realize I need to respond always. Your pictures of plants are always very nice. Waiting to see the yard after your major winter cleanup....and the pond and frogs. It's a start and stop spring.

Maggy, your trees look great! Today I mowed all the magnolia petals for the second day. They keep falling and covering the grass that is trying to grow. I am also hauling new soil to low spots in my yard and will reseed those spots. There are lots of them from all the tearing up of the yard the past couple years, especially the removal of oil the tank. It is very hard work for me this year. Maybe I used up all my strength snow shovelling? I thought it would make me strong. Oh well. Taking a short break before I get more soil. I probably could use some advice from Brian as his lawn is so beautiful. He had said he keeps adding seeds to the barer spots all summer long. I will work on the spots too. Maggy, I wish my epi had buds. Looks nice! The camellias are outside again. I hope for good this time. The citrus trees can follow soon. Maggy, I hope it stays warm enough where you are for your trees to be out while you are vacationing. I think the freezes are over now and the citrus will be ok even if the temperatures are not real warm. That may be better anyway as they are not as likely to dry out as if it were high temperatures. Maggy, it is Lesser Celladine that is taking over all my gardens and now a lot of my lawn. It is impossible to get rid of. I don't know where it came from.

Everyone, I'm sure Steve did not mean to insult anyone. Sometimes things look different after we go back and reread them. Just like emails....Sometimes you need to age them before pressing the send button. They often look so different in print than what we thought we we were thinking and writing.

If it wasn't mentioned that Brian was back I would have completely not seen them. I will have to read through more carefully later and respond but have to cook dinner now. I will be back later. I don't get notified of messages anymore. I really don't know why. They just stopped a few weeks ago.

I will leave this thread but I would like to say a few things first.

    1) My greeting was very warm towards Cory and her beautiful magnolia tree. I close with ONE bad word choice that tainted the entire entry. I have never called any one names.

    2) I have helped many of others out on growing ideas particularly on figs. The information I have given is good . may not be the best but will work well.

    3) Early in the morning I posted something I did not think was offensive but warm. I corrected it fast when Maggy brought it to my attention of its rudeness. No need for others to see it. Maggy if you had not pointed it out I would have never realized that some may find it very offensive. Thanks.

    4) Mike you said I try to make you look incompetent with my pictures of Superior trees and lighting contraptions. My tree pictures show how well my trees grow under my methods of care. It is up to you to either do what I am doing or insinuate I am showing of my trees in your face. I have many advantages over you in growing citrus tree. A) I get better sunlight along with warmer weather for many more days. I have less shade and less clouds and most important I have 5 citrus tree instead of your 50. Otherwise you got me on technique and knowledge.

    5) I definitely would not want to offend some one that offer to send a tree to me. I was also taking you suggestion that I could compliment and thank people as posts go by instead of waiting till I have something to post.

    6) I have sought feed back many time when I though I was offending some one and responded positively to the feedback. I asked about my bucket lights and most people said no. I will post them on my own thread but stop telling other to use them on their threads.

    7) Patti asked me to drop the global warming thread. I dropped it.

    8) I pull peoples chains to get them to think about hot/controversial ideas. I enjoy it.

These writings take me to long to write for me to do for any other reason that I enjoy helping friends. This has been a trend and if I stay in I will continue to make these kinds of mistake that no other person could ever make. You can let me know or I can go.

Hi Everyone, I am back from Houston after what was probably the unhappiest time of my life. My poor Mom, my friend, is gone and I don't think it has really hit me yet. I walk around saying out loud, I can't believe she is gone. But as long as I remember her, she is not gone. Now my new guardian angel is watching over me and my beloved little grapefruit tree. She loved my tree too!! When I left, it was not doing so well, but to my surprise, it is doing OK. The leaves are perky and a beautiful dark green. It has a will to live, I know it does. It knows I love it and it's trying. I know I am the goofy one here who believes that plants are more than they appear and that they are capable of "feeling" but I'm convinced. When I was away with my mom, I met a man who is a certified botanist who was more than happy to talk to me about my tree. He told me that it was still recovering from being nearly bare rooted transplanted. He told me to stop moving its locations so much. Every time I did that, it had to readjust to its new surroundings. And he told me that it was planted too deep. The root flare was not showing and that can cause problems. I hope to post pictures of it soon with a new flush of growth and we can all smile. I am sorry to see hurt feelings on the thread tonight. I haven't had much time to read everything but I hope all is not lost. Be happy and love like there is no tomorrow!!

Mike and Steve, I have not forgotten about sending you the plants I have promised. I have just been afraid to send them as we keep getting freezes. Mike, I haven't started repotting and dividing any of my orchids yet. I hope to be starting soon.

Brian, yes we have Tulip Trees in our parks in town. They have beautiful flowers. My Magnolia was much bigger a few years ago. A bad storm took out major portions of the tree and it is now about a third of its size before the storm. It is growing back. People tell me they come from far away to look at it every year. Magnolias require constant cleanup though. There is always something falling down from them besides the petals all year long. It is pretty while blooming but the bloom time is relatively short as some years the flowers freeze. They survived this year though. I am trying to get the grass to grow better around it so I keep mowing the petals almost every day which actual takes a long time as they are so big and moist. I have been checking for citrus at my nearby HDs, but they don't seem to get citrus trees here in NJ. It seems strange since they bring them to their Canadian stores and other northern states. I will keep looking just in case. Maggy, too bad about the freeze damage to your favorite maple tree. Many of my bushes have a lot of frost damage too, but nothing too bad. Not sure about my fig though. It seems to have died back to the roots. I expect it will resprout though. The figs always come so late though I am not sure it is worth the effort. The few times they matured on time, the birds got them. Maggy, Phals seem so susceptible to mealybug. At times I think of them as cut flowers and enjoy the flowers while I can, but like you I fight the mealies for a while and finally give up on them when they overtake the plants and before they start attacking my other plants. I also find I have to change out the sphagnum moss when I get them. It is usually already turning toxic by the time we purchase them at the store. I just repotted a whole bunch of minis even though they are still in flower as I could see they were not really doing that great. I can see the improvement already.

Steve, I didn't see your offensive post but it seems to have upset the others quite badly so it must have seemed pretty bad to set off such a reaction. I hope they can forgive your hurtful words now that you have apologized and deleted the offensive parts. I don't think you intentionally meant to hurt anyone as you seem to genuinely like to participate in the conversation here. I do like to see your plants and growing methods.

Trace, I hope you are recovering from your recent breakup. Get back to thinking about your trees and plants and find peace with them. You have to keep moving forward with your life even though at times it can be quite trying. It will get better and enjoyable again.

Laura, I am thinking of you. We all will be glad to hear from you when you have more time and to also hear how your grapefruit tree has made out while you have been away.

PS. I do have problems using this site. I have found that often I post something and I have to click on the Submit button several times before it takes. Sometimes when I am in a hurry I forget and close out and my post never gets posted and I don't realize it. Maybe that is why Mike thinks I am not responding to his posts sometimes. I think the site has tried to fix that problem as I notice recently that it asks me if I really want to close out without submitting the post. That is helpful. I still can't figure out why my pictures always look sideways on my screen no matter how I try to fix that. My phone's operating system was recently updated and that may have fixed all the stuttering I had on this site, unless the site owners fixed that problem. It is easier to post pictures now too without having to chase the post button all over the screen. Nothing has fixed the sideways photos though yet. It seems people get very irritated by sideways puctures, but I have tried their suggestions and nothing works, and I guess others have the same problem, maybe the same phone. Yesterday I tried to send a friend an email with Hotmail twice, long emails two. The screen twice went dark and came back on the Hotmail main page. Strange. Finally I just gave up and called. I'm not sure whether the problem is with my new phone, the new FIOS system, the Hotmail website, or the new software update. It may be that they are debugging the new software as I couldn't get my printers to connect and suddenly they are connecting now. So please bear with me through these posting problems which I seem to have no control over. Maggy, I checked My Houzz settings, and notifications is checked but not working yet.

Hi gang . What a gorgeous day here its close to 70 degrees and sunny love it . When I get home from work I might take a few more citrus tree's out of the GH . The only night I am worried about is Friday night it going to go down to 39 degrees Even that won't kill them . The next two weeks temps at night will be in the 40's and low 50's . Mikey and Maggy Cory I think spring has finally arrived double Ya Hooo. !! . Steve I know you have been alot warmer for the last 2 weeks . Laura ♡♡♡♡♡♡!!!! Always . Cory our yard is much more easier to take care of , our lawn is not large by any means . What we do is sprinkle some black earth on the lawn not to much because we have a dog and Sugar is white you can imagine . Then we seed seed seed . We almost seed everyday . We stocked up at costco when it was on sale 7 large bags . We also fertilize quit a bit . I am telling you Cory better than carpet people just love going barefoot on our grass. . Maggy did you take any of your plants out today ? Maggy the bee's are out now incredible. What's on the menu for tonight barbecue maybe anyways please set another setting. Mikey how are yours trees doing ? Mikey so looking forward to wash my trees some of them are filthy. Has you're weather broken yet ? It could stay 70 degrees for me all summer love this stuff . Is your grass greening up now ? Ours is really greening up fast now and the tree's are now buddy . It's so amazing when you think about it , bone chilling minus 20 and lower all winter I wonder if they complain and these bush's and trees come back to life like it was nothing..

    Where is Trace ?

    Hugs guy's

    Hello everyone,

I put out all my trees today. Now I am exhausted. I hope the weather holds. Broke my greenhouse watering wand...the pipe part broke in half. The squeezer part still works. Don't know how it ever happened. Picked it up to water and it was broken. I hope it didn't break by me stepping on it. Signs that I better go on a diet. I can't get the end off the hose now either to replace it. I may have to cut it off the hose but I hate to because it has a special end because it is one of those very thin heavy duty hoses that Charley's Greenhouse sells. Things seem to be breaking faster than I can repair them lately.

Brian, I see you are putting your trees out too. Thanks for the info about reseeding your lawn. That's what I have done so far in 3 large pieces. I will now go over all the barer areas too as you say. I also have to fix out by the side street where a delivery truck pulled up on that spot between the sidewalk and street and left a deep tire rut the whole length of my property. I had finally gotten the grass to grow well there and now it is all messed up. The town has not come back to finish the front where they put in the curbing and took away all the soil to lower the area. No one has come back to lower the fire hydrants, stop sign and water and gas pipe connections either. That will require more digging so I doubt they will replace the grass until that is done. It is all mud so far. What a mess. Maybe I just have to seed it myself, but it is now all subsoil as several feet thick of topsoil was taken away. Which fertilizer do you use Brian? Do you use a weed killer? I dig weeds out but I sure have a lot to do this year. I am hoping if I can get the grass roots strong it will take care of the weeds. I used to have a nice lawn, but there has been so many disruptions the past few years and it keeps getting dug up. Now so much of the subsoil is now on top.

Steve that ladder angle looks a little dangerous.

Mike, what is done? Putting your trees out....washing them?

Maggy, I finally was able to get the oven light covers off. It took me days. I don't know why they make them so hard to reach and so hard to get off. Especially it is most likely a woman would be trying to change the light bulb. It would be hard for a man too I think. I finally used rubber gardening gloves to get a good gripe and the covers finally turned. Then the bulbs were stuck, but after trying for a couple hours I finally got them out. Fortunately the replacement bulbs work so it was just the two bulbs that were broken and not an electrical problem. Now I am trying to get the 2nd cover back on. I am taking a break because I just can't get it on. It is so hard to reach and so hard to get a good gripe and so hard to turn in the groove. It is as hard to get them back on as to get them off. Dumb design. You need to be Houdini just to reach back in there. I read that the lower door comes off, which might help, but I would be afraid I could not get it back on again, let alone get it off. The joke about how many people does it take to change a light bulb comes to mind. I hope they last a good long time. So far the upper oven light bulb is still working thank goodness.

Maggy, you must really be getting excited about your vacation. Is it a through flight or do you have to change planes? I can't wait to hear about the trip and see pictures, especially of the orange grooves. How is your asthma? Will you go to the specialist before the trip?

Laura, I'm glad to see you back and also to hear your tree is doing well. I always think I have a guardian angel looking after me too. It is a good feeling.

Got to get that oven light cover on so I can make dinner.

Hi Cory. The ladder has to slope hard enough to make the feet push outward from the house on the steep roof or the feet will slide into the house. I'm Glad to hear you got your trees out.

    Hi Trace;

    Hi Trace,

Glad you are back. Sorry about your breakup. Don't look for a replacement too fast or it will not work out. Try to enjoy the things that bring you the most peace and joy. Don't rush into a new relationship yet. Wow! 55 lbs lost. I wish I could lose half of that. Take care of yourself. Good luck with your revived modelling career. Did you give up the nursery business? Send us updates of your trees. Maggy started a new thread called everything citrus. See you there. Did Maggy really ban you Steve? Did you take all the glass down now?

Cory I am taking the glass down over a 2 week period so I don't sunburn my trees. I have removed 7 pieces of glass, about 1/4th

    Mike stated

"Cory just to clear things up for you. Maggy would never Ban anyone for here , since only Houzz can do so"

Mike is correct but I will honor Maggy's request that I leave her threads alone. Her banning me is her request and not from Houzz.
