It sounds delish! I love pot pie..but I'm the only one..so I've not made it in a very long time.. Freeze individual portions wrapped well once chilled in plastic wrap.. I think it's a great idea to share it..and your "thoughts" for making it okay for them to share is great!!!

Thanks everyone. I'm still eating it.... I would call this a success, but I did learn some things for next time. At least use onion powder if I don't have an onion, and be a little more generous with the salt. I'm adding both of those each serving now, and it really helps. I'm glad other people wondered what coarse meal looks like, that made me smile :o) Sewhappy, thanks for the suggestion.... Plastic wrap is not my friend, and I think for me at least using it in that manner would be harder than cleaning the worktop surface of the portable dishwasher. I scraped the dough off with a plastic pan scraper, and then just brushed the loose stuff into the trash... so much easier than trying to wash with a sponge and getting a gluey mess everywhere! Duane, I agree. I have made things before (think pumpkin stuffed ravioli) that were not worth the effort to cook them, nor the clean up process. When I make something big, it is because I want to, I never force myself to.... sometimes I am very glad I did, and other times, even halfway through the process, I mutter, "why oh why" or "never again!" I hate finishing a project and thinking "Man, I should have bought that, it would have tasted better and saved me all this work!" Annie, you like every food, don't you? :o)

I do what my grandfather taught me to do years ago. It's so easy, it's almost cheating. ;o) Originally, he taught me to do this with leftover Thanksgiving turkey. 2 frozen DEEP DISH pie shells pre-bake one according to package directions set the other aside upside down to thaw Combine: 2 cups cooked, chopped chicken (I like white meat, boiled, grilled, however you like it cooked) 1 can Veg-All, drained 1 can cream of potato soup 1 can cream of chicken soup 1/2 c. milk salt/pepper to taste Spread mixture into the pre-baked shell. Top with unbaked shell, pinch sides and trim extra dough. Cut slits in top. Brush with beaten egg yolk. Bake at 375 about 45 mins. This way, I don't even need a pie dish. It is baked in the aluminum pan the shells come in.

Nope, I completely missed it. Elery and I are building an island in the kitchen and my prep space is pretty much taken up with drills, hammers, tapcons, silicone adhesive. Maybe I could do a belated Pi(e) Day? I just really want to get this done before Easter, so no pie. Annie
