There are generally other options than a 33'' susan, given the layout of the kitchen as a whole. Those have utility for small items, but are limited to small items. Sometimes a blind coner is a better choice. Sometimes voiding the corner entirely is a better choice. Sometimes shifting an element down to increase the available space is the best choice. It's about context, and we don't have any here to judge ''better'' for your individual situation.

I have a 34x36 corner cabinet with a lazy susan. We find it to be very useful.

I have a really small kitchen. Before reno I had a blind corner cab and it was horrible. It was a never ending pit. I hated when I had to get something out of it. I put in a Lazy Susan corner cabinet and I'm very happy with it myself. It's so much more useful for me. Mine is 36x33.

ShaggyDogs - can you do a 36"x33" corner susan? It will give you a bigger opening - that's the biggest limiting factor in a 33"x33" corner susan.

Corner susans can be very useful. They're great for pot & pan storage - especially if you don't have drawers for them. They're also great for small appliances. Everything is always in front. You just rotate the shelf/shelves until the item you want is in front - then easily lift it out! I loved the one in our old Kitchen. We stored all our pots & pans, colanders, and large serving pieces in one 36"x36" corner susan - it was a lazy susan (pole down the center) with the doors attached to the shelves so they rotated into the cabinet when it was open.

Blind corner cabinets are useless without swing outs or roll out tray shelves (ROTS)

• You can't store anything in front of the ROTS b/c it needs to be clear in front of them to pull them out.
• Swing outs can be problematical - especially if something falls off the shelves in the interior - you have to send a small child inside to retrieve the item and you cannot close it until it's retrieved! My KD demonstrated a couple of different models for us - she said most people come back complaining about the swing outs so she moves heaven and earth to not use a blind corner!

My MIL has upper and base blind corners (no ROTS or swing out) and she says they're a waste b/c it's too difficult to get into them - she doesn't store anything in the "blind" areas.

You may be better off voiding out the corner if the opening is too small to be useful on a 33"x33"....or consider corner drawers, but they will probably be very expensive.

Absolutely agree with 36" x 36" being useful. I had two of them in my last kitchen and they were wonderfully useful for the items you mentioned, buehl. If I had the room for 36"s it would be a no brainer. The range will sit in between so it would be perfect for pots and pans.

Really don't want to go blind corners for the reasons mentioned. Those would be pointless for me.

We designed in a 33 by 33 corner cabinet in my daughter's house. Her Gram had one that size and she considered it perfect size - any bigger was a waste . Three generations have lived with and like this size. I would much rather add any extra inches to drawers or pullouts on either side
