I can't get warm enough to fall asleep
Comments (2)Hi Phylrae, I had the same symptoms before i realized it was because of low estrogen levels. Hot Flashes, Mood swings were 2 common problems alongside with the Freezing symptom. Are you also experiencing the same? Right now, i have switched to a new natural supplement called Xenesis EP. The results are satisfactory. The hot flashes disappeared within 21 days and also now i can have a comfortable sleep without getting frooze in the bed....See MoreHow long does it take you to fall asleep?
Comments (30)I only go to sleep in minutes if I am VERY tired. OTOH, if I am truly EXHAUSTED, it takes longer. (Go figure.) I didn't have a problem until post-menopause. Now I have a generic for Ambien 5 mg that I will take if I can't get to sleep within an hour or can't get back to sleep if I wake before 3 a.m. (One or the other -- not two pills in one night.) I used the Ambien Monday night on the redeye home from Hawaii and got a good four hours more than my DH. Next time I'm going to add the blindfold to see if I can get even more....See MoreMelatonin
Comments (13)I take it occasionally, never more than 3 mg. and always the lozenge form that dissolves in the mouth. Hard to say how often it works. I know it doesn't work all the time. Never had nightmares from it. I sometimes do the breathing exercises, most of the time the one recommended on Dr. Andrew Weil's website. This, too, doesn't always work. But it does no harm, and probably does some good even if it doesn't put you to sleep. I was shocked to read that the highly addictive Xanax is often prescribed for insomnia these days. Bad idea....See MoreIs There a TV in Your Bedroom?
Comments (90)Kswl that is the perfect size TV for me. That's one huge disagreement between hubs and me. He says tv's of a certain size aren't even worth watching. I had a tiny one when we first met. Never bothered me. Had a small one in the bedroom, good enough for me. Hubs claims he can't see the tv images well when they are small, but I have terrible vision and I can see the tv just fine. I guess I just don't put much stock in the images on the screen and their quality. I prefer real life for that kind of thing . . . Hubs is gone visiting family and I totally don't miss the big screen monster being on all the time. I have been aware that it is intrusive but now more than ever. It was wanting to get away from the monster that led me to the smaller set in the bedroom in the first place. Both hubs and I are boomers, so I know darn well that life went on for our parent's generation and grandparents without these huge TV images and they never complained about not being able to see . . . hear on the other hand . . . but that had a remedy. I can't stand the loud tv noise either . . ....See More- 10 years ago
