Am I right to be annoyed or am I just being a crappy daughter??
Comments (12)I finally got to read your whole post. I bet you are feeling like tearing your hair out because she sure doesn't seem to value your time or that you have other things to do. I am so sorry. My dad will be 91 in July and had hip/femur surgery in November and, sadly, it just hasn't healed. The next step is a partial hip replacement with a titanium rod inserted in the femur. What I have noticed is that on the days he has pain he can't seem to hand me his lunch or dinner plate or mail in order for me to clean up. I think it is a mental decision that they can't do the simplest of things. I think contacting any senior centers or any senior programs available through government services might be a great start. There are organizations that will take your mom grocery shopping or to appointments if they are fairly local. Some charge, some take donations and some are totally free. Many grocery stores have online ordering and will deliver to her home for a fee. That could be a lifesaver for sure. Do insist on being in charge of her calendar or you won't be able to attend or drive. She cannot make decisions for you when you are the ride. Let us know what you have decided to do and know that we all support you and most have gone through (or are going through) similar situations. The is a great place to vent! Comments (19)It's a sad situation and when you've been with someone for that long, starting over seems close to impossible. I was in a similar situation a few years ago. When my best friend died of cancer at age 49, something clicked in me and I knew my marriage would soon end. I finally realized that this was the only life I was going to get, and it was up to me to make it what I wanted it to be. And I wanted to experience joy, fulfillment, and independence for the first time. I couldn't do that as long as I was in the unhealthy relationship, blaming him, feeling sorry for myself, and building resentment. I didn't like the person I had become. Leaving the security of marriage was scary, lonely, and difficult, but now, five years later, I'm much happier, more useful to the ones I love, and I've found a real, honest, respectful and loving relationship with a man that I never dreamed was possible. My ex-husband is happier, too. I'm not telling you to leave, but I do urge you to do some self-exploration and find out who it is that you want to be for the rest of your life. The years go by fast and we never know how many we have left. Good luck....See MoreHooray, I am one of the 40 lucky international recipients worldwi
Comments (6)Hmmmmm, next they will ask for your bank account number and ss number so they can electronically deposit your windfall and of course report it to the government. LOL I could use a charity donation, but I don't think I will ever get one from Nigeria...See MoreNEWBIE SEED PROJECT NEEDS DONATIONS
Comments (49)Hi, I have nonGMO from Botanical Interests: Buckwheat, Peas for shoots/micro greens, fenugreek sprouts and red velvet lettuce. And Painted Mountain Corn from Finney Farm in WA. I also have straight eight cucumber and Cali wonder pepper (from Burpee Organic). I don't want them to go to waste, they 'expire' in 2018/2019 and I have more seeds than I need for the next 3 years. Please let me know where to send them! Thanks!...See Morequasifish
