For Jasdip and anyone else that is curious. Mexican Train is a dominoes game generally played with a double 12 set. The tiles (officially known as bones) are white with colored dots (officially known as pips). There's a centerpiece that houses the beginning tile (12) and has eight cut-outs (stations) for each players train. Depending on the number of players…..we prefer 5 or 6 but you can play with more or with less, you pick x number of tiles. With 5 or 6 it's 12 tiles. You line your tiles up in front of you starting with the number in the center of the board (12, 11, 10, 9, etc.) Each tile has two numbers on it and you match the bottom number of the preceding tile making your train. Besides each player, there is an extra train called the Mexican Train. You can either play on your train or the Mexican. Each player has a train which begins in the station and when they cannot make a move, they must draw a tile, if they can play that tile they may do so. If not, their train comes out of the station and is placed on top of their "train" of tiles and any other player can now play on either their own train, the Mexican train, or the player whose train is down. It's much easier to explain while playing. It's a game that can be learned in about 22 nano seconds. There is some strategy that one learns as one plays the game a few times but you do have to be a little lucky in picking tiles. The first person to get rid of all their tiles wins the round. We don't keep a running score as some do. We tally after each round and give the winner a penny a pip. You count the dots on the tiles you're stuck with and give the winner a penny for each dot you have. At the end of the evening you win or lose $2 to $3. Sometimes more or less. It's a fun cheap evening.
