How many gwebbers does it take to help me change a light bulb?

Has anyone seen this light fixture?

I can't figure out how to remove the globe to get to the light bulbs inside. I tried loosening the ring and could pull down the globe to see a metal something inside:

Any ideas from you as what next to do? It's awfully dark in the area at night.

My best guess is metal spring clips holding it in place internally.

This is the most terrifying option because the only way to find out is to give it a good yank. Well, a careful yank. Maybe trying to yank it to one side.

Answer: NONE! We'll all have fluorescent only fixtures. We're in CA too, and had to deal with Title 24. Sounds like you've been reading up, so you may know this, but for any one else dealing with this: Recessed lights that take CFLs will NOT qualify for Title 24 lighting. You have to use fictures that have pin bases so that there is no possibility of replacing the CFLs with regular bulbs. You have to have 50% of your wattage come from the fluorescent only fixtures. All of our cans are Title 24 compliant fixtures that have warm white bulbs in them. The color of light they produce is indistinguishable from the regular cans in our adjoining foyer. We also have warm white fluorescent undercabinet lighting that we're quite pleased with.

That's hilarious! And thankfully I have never seen GODWIN'S LAW in action on here... the one that hypothesizes that on any online list/group debate, regardless of the topic at hand, sooner or later (usually sooner rather than later) someone will invoke the Holocaust or Hitler or Nazis, which will result in the immediate screeching-to-a-halt of all relevant, rational discussion of said topic.

How to change light bulb in Bosch built-in Microwave?

Lamp replacement for a Bosch HMT75M551B Built-in Microwave. All that is needed is a Phillips No. 2 screwdriver, wire cutters and a replacement lamp. (1 x T170 25W Microwave Oven Bulb with Base (Espares ES461903) Isolate appliance from the power source. Remove cap and screw (bottom central) holding the built in outer stainless steel surround to the kitchen housing. Remove the microwave from the housing. Remove the three screws on each side and back (9 in all) from the top cover on the top of the microwave and set aside. Remove five screws from the fan housing on top of the microwave and set aside. Remove the three screw at the bottom of the main cover. (Two at the back and one on the right hand side). Pull the whole of the main casing backwards to remove and set aside. The lamp can be seen located towards the front on the right hand side with three connecting wires. A red and brown at the front connection and a yellow wire to the rear connection. Disconnect the wire clips from the two old bulb terminals. It will be necessary to brake the plastic base cap to the bulb on the front side and unclip the base plate on the right to remove it from the bulb mounting. I used a pair of wire cutters to brake the bulb base plate to release the old lamp. When the lamp has been successfully removed in can be replaced by the new one and the wires reconnected as they were previously configured. Reassembly is the reverse of the disassembly. The whole process can be done in under an hour.

Does it screw off? Cool light - its amazing to me how weirdly some lights are built. When you do figure it out use LED's - good for 25 years ;0

I've tried to unscrew the ring, but all I could do is tilt the globe a bit (and pinch my finger when the globe snapped back). The light is more than 30 years old, so I'm sure that I've changed a bulb sometime in the past, but it has been so many years that I can't remember if I ever changed the bulb and if so, what I did.

To see if it has clips holding it up, carefully slide a butter knife between the globe and the metal. Try prying the globe away from the metal part. If it comes loose you may need to do that all around the globe. I have one similar that is held on by 3 clips.

I got the definitive answer. It took three people. One to turn off the circuit breaker. One to unscrew the light fixture (while the other one held the bottom to make sure it didn't fall and break in the process), and the terrific man in the lighting fixture store who took the globe off its base so that new light bulbs could be screwed in.
Now all we have to do is reinstall the light fixture. And hope these bulbs last a long, long time.

Not enough hands to take a picture of us unscrewing the fixture. Oh, the inside? Well, there's spring that holds the bulb in place, and you have to do a push and slide to get the bulb off the stem.

So what are u gonna do when the next light goes out. Lol. Talk about a pain. Shoulda got a new light fixture while you had it taken down.

Once we got the light fixture down, I could see the manufacturer's name Lightcraft of California. I googled the name and found the patent application for the mechanism that attaches the globe to the stem. Now that I have that information, along with an exploded drawing of the internal mechanism, I'll be able to change the light bulbs in the future.
As for the fixture itself, I found it for sale on several sites, including 1st dibs, where it had already been sold. Apparently, this 1960's fixture is very popular. Maybe because people like the look, but have not yet tried to change a burnt out bulb in ths fixture.
