Existing nail down hardwood floors

We're in the process of buying a house with existing red oak nail down hardwoods that have been stained on site. They are very traditional. We are not.
We're not in a position to replace all the flooring, so we will attempt to match what is already down. We have a reputable floor consultant and he assures us that they can match the new to the old so well that we'll never notice the difference. He also mentioned that once we're able to afford it, they can come in and sand, distress, and refinish the floors for a reasonable price.
Anyone have experience with this? Any photo's you'd be willing to share?
