I am ready for new flooring in my master bedroom. We currently have carpet which connects to hardwoods(red oak) installed by my husband several years ago when we built our home. He wants to pull up the carpet & put down the same type of hardwood in the bedroom. I have several questions. Can we do this without refinishing all the hardwoods in the house? Does the floor have to match perfectly since it will run into the existing hardwoods? Can we use use a wider board so it will look totally different or put some type of threshold to distinguish the difference between the two? Any information or pictures on this subject would be greatly appreciate. He is ready to start on this project soon.
