Really late comer. I recently found a toothpaste without fluoride - Spry. In my opinion fluorinating the public drinking water in unconscienceable. When I mentioned not using fluoride to my dentist, he was dead set against it. Course, he has put mercury in my and hundreds of other mouths plus been in favor of fluoride. So it would be quite a thing for him to change thinking on these things at this time in his career. Also he didn't know about the positive things for tooth and other health of xylitol. That really makes me wonder.

Thanks for the link, morz. My mother, who died suddenly at 70, took daily calcium supplements, as she had severe osteoporosis and osteoarthritis. I guess I'll never know whether the calcium supplements played any part in her death of a stroke at a relatively young age. She was the youngest of 10 siblings, all who died of heart attacks or strokes between the ages of 50 and 76, except one brother. I have no idea if any of them were ever on calcium supplements. I know my Doctor is just trying to ensure I won't get osteoporosis/arthritis like my mother. But my mother never needed a cane and had never broken a single bone, despite her low bone density, when she died of a massive stroke. It's hard to decide if there is a strong enough risk of accelerating heart disease by taking the calcium supplements, or if I should just take my Vitamin D and continue my high calcium diet but ditch the calcium pills..

Very little sunshine in my zone 5a, Chicagoland. I take Brewer's yeast, high in all B-vitamins, except for B-12. I get plenty of B-12 through eating meat though. Lab tests came back for my 12-year-old daughter, it's hormonal imbalances ... she was depressed but now much better with high-dose of fish-oil & vitamin D & B-vitamins. Few people realize that vitamin D is fat-soluble, and vitamin D is a hormone. We use liquid fish oil, it's the form that's documented to help with lipid panels & depression. The capsule ones don't get dissolve, esp. the hard-shell enteric-coated. I once soaked fish-oil capsules in vinegar for hours .. they won't dissolve. I had to poke the hard shell with a sharp knife to sniff the fish-oil inside, to see if it's fresh. Folks reported seeing fish-oil capsules floating in their toilets, not dissolved by stomach acid.
