Does one Plant lead to Another
Comments (7)Oooh I like Sienna Sunset. It might look pretty with a bright blue scarf. : ) I've been watching for a good deal on some new containers. The big ones are expensive. I almost bought one at Biglots last week but I really wanted a second one to match it and they didn't have it. The ones that look like concrete but are made out of a foam material are really nice to keep roots cool and are easier to move around....See Moreyet another question in my never ending planning process
Comments (3)Thanks Shelly I've been thinking of Quadra and on the weekend I saw Morden Ruby which was really a nice looking plant. When you plant the rose to you put the obelisk over it immediately and then the rose just continuously grows up inside of it and pokes branches out? - I really am kind of dumb about roses - what does Prairie Princess look like? I really like the fuller looking roses that don't open completely to show the centre. You have been one of the people leading me down the "rose garden path" making me fall in love with many of the pictures on the gallery - specifically Lambert Closse, Quadra, J.P. Connell and Winnepeg parks. A friend says that her brother grows Persian yellow in Calgary but I'm afraid it would get too large for my little yard. Thanks for all your information Fern...See MoreI'll never buy another "toilet brush" again
Comments (34)I had never even heard of Inax until last week, and didn't look at the specs on anything that far out of my price range (instead focusing on the conventional Double Vortex units), but wonder how it would face off against the similar-looking Toto Neorest (again, one's obviously copying the other). My take on this style though is that their functionality is available by just buying a Toto Washlet-type bidet on a standard good-quality elongated-bowl toilet, and that combination is about 1/3 the price. As for looks, I would rather have one of the increasingly popular tank-in-wall toilets (made by Toto, Grohe, Geberit, Duravit, and others) that's used in conjunction with usualy a wall-mounted bowl that's similar in appearance to the Satis/Neorest, actually even smaller and more svelte, and the wall-mounted flush buttons (usually there are two, with several color and trim options) are the only part of the tank you see. These are also great space-savers, protruding about 10" less into the room. I've only used the Geberit (it works great btw, and flushes very differently than anything else I've seen - a sheet of water sprays out from the back from just below the rim, aimed at the front a few inches below the rim, and the water spreads to the sides after it hits the front. This is also the only dual-flush toilet I've used where the low-water option worked adequately well. One of these with a Washlet would still cost less than a Neorest or Satis....See MoreOne thing leads to another.....(Hardware)
Comments (7)Thank you all for your responses. I can't wait to see your plant pics RMkitchen. :) I am working with the limitation of using the existing holes unless I want to pay more money. That means that all hardware will be pulls. I don't think it is as easy to be whimsical with pulls as it is with knobs. I think I will end up putting my whimsical knobs in the powder room. I am going for more of a monochromatic look I think. I linked a thread that discussed this not too long ago. That being said, I am having a difficult time with the hinges, so I am now thinking of black hardware. Since the appliances are black, I think that might work especially if I get black light fixtures too. Here is a link that might be useful: dark pulls with dark cabinets...See MoreOrganic_johnny
