anyone try "Garden Soup FOR the Soil " product

Hello I saw an ad in Mother Earth New magazine for this product.. by DrJimZ.com ??? I get so bany pest everykind of beetle etc. I even have most of my garden under Hail netting. But the moths and beetles get in esp the DAng Tobacco or horn worm moth as well as army worms et. All my Garden well most in raised beds 3 ft in diameter with hardware cloth under all beds to keep out voles chipmunks etc. Of course now the MOLES have taken over the rest of my property and have copuntless mole hills which trip me something terrible

But my main question is for the the liquid product "Garden Soup for the Soil" Please dont suggest soil tests as my many circl raised beds are fed Organic "Plantone" etc. some ash, epsom salt etc. Each bed is prob different. They usually do well If I can keep them watered. too

Anyone ever use the product and can we make a similar product ourselves,??? Im want to try Pantyhose this year over the shorter plants like cabbages etc... Blessings all and thanks in advance

I believe the correct name is Chicken Soup for the Soil and it is just a form of organic liquid fertilizer, similar to any other compost, manure or plant-based tea. While a healthy plant is better able to ward off or tolerate heavy insect predation and most diseases, the chicken soup stuff will do nothing specifically to address those issues.

Thx guys. I just pulled up the thread I posted a week or so ago. It was Jerry who recommended I get the granular. I'm going to email and ask him how much he uses. Kevin, the grains are small and I use clay pots and always make the holes larger if I don't have the actual orchid pots. Not worried about it clogging, just don't know how much to use...just guessing not more than a tablespoon per pot. At that rate, it sure would be a very economical way to treat the plants. No scent to it, so I assume I could use it on indoor plants as well.

The only one I've ever used was Schluter's Kerdi Tray. A few years ago I bought an old building and converted two of the floors into apartments. Just as Bill wrote, I framed all the baths as required, and that's where the convenience and time savings of these preformed trays comes to light. Nine trays a day for two days, a total of 18 showers. I'd have needed shoulder and elbow surgery, not to mention a lobotomy, had I tried to pack 18 mud pans in two days. Mongo

I rent through AirBnB. I set the price, they take (I think) 3%. As soon as the person books and I accept it, I can communicate with them, through the site. When they arrive, or on their trip to my home, I offer my cell #. The last couple that was here used my kitchen for most of their very healthy meals. They also worked out every day. I have only been doing this since June but have really enjoyed meeting the people who have stayed here, it has been quiet since the hurricane season is in full swing but hopefully some bookings will happen in the next few weeks.

Try row covers over your brassicas--easier than stockings over each individual cabbage. And cover the plants as soon as you put them out.

Hail netting really only keeps out the largest insects, like moths. It has slots that bugs can squeeze through. Might think about replacing that with real row covers, which have a fine mesh. To the extent that hail is damaging where you live, I would assume that regular row cover would be protective for at least small hail. Hail netting is about twice the weight of most row covers, so it may well have a longer lifetime, though, and will protect better against golf-ball sized hail.

Yeah hail netting is reueable for MANY MANY years if stored properly off season... Only bad thing is that it catches hair clips LOL and snugs on every weld on hoop houses. Can be bought in like 20 ft wide plus long lenths. But the best thing to do is ad grommets with backing before installing. Yesars ago Hubby made be some great covers but stuff got destroyed anyway. I figured the creeps were already living in the soil in those r small indivudual raised bed. They had a FRench name cant rember what they are called

So yall saying the herbs suposedly in the Liquiid wont help. I def know Bail dorsny keep good for nuttin T horn moths off my Toms. matter factthe Basils turn out bushy and wonderfu. I only grow Romas they do pretty good but T Horns are hard to detect even with black flashlight and no having Gd Peepers anymore, I find the creeps mostly by feeling.

NO way would I want to replace my wonderful H Netting. Its so large that I have whole thin over whole garden CP hoop houses. But down side is it seems to take a while for rain to pentrate it . Plus I feel safer under it esp at nite,,,and all enclosed in large fence.

Just my humble opinion Hubby hates messing with it. I used to be able to put it off and on myself before My tertrible accident
