Summer Solstice Stonehenge

veer

For the first time in many years the weather was kind to the thousands who turned up to welcome the dawn on Salisbury Plain. A cross section of ancestor worshippers, Druids, hippies, eco-warriors, pagans, wiccans, Earth-Mother huggers and associated trades.
In England and Wales we have been celebrating a beautiful June after a terrible wet and soggy Winter and Spring.
The mornings are light not long after 4am and I have been able to read outside 'til almost 10pm.
Strawberries and new potatoes from the garden, roses and orange blossom wafting their scent into the house as I write; you can probably smell them!
Wimbledon starting tomorrow and no need to watch any more World Cup football (England knocked out early. . . no surprise there).
The temperature rarely gets to 80F so we seldom overheat.
How is the Summer where you are?

And for Annpan, Coleen and Kath is it a damp and chilly Winter?
Ann, do you miss the UK Summers (well the good ones!)?

Here is a link that might be useful: Sunrise over Stonehenge taken on the 19th June.
