Let's just say I'm obsessed, with no other hobbies 'cept reading when it rains...and when I moved here in April 2010, the place was bare except for trees and bougs - so I went at it ...just couldn't stand all the bareness - I've certainly made some mistakes, but soon I'll start moving things around and redo!...glad you enjoyed the pics Hester

I'm trying to get my big toe back into the quilting water. Being homebound six days out of seven from the snows, you'd think I could go quilting crazy, but I'm too blah with the cabin fever to have much patience quilting. Seems like despite the time I SHOULD have, it keeps getting cut short every time I go up to the sewing room. Stop and feed the chickens, stop and cook a meal, stop and etc. etc. etc. Pretty soon you just say to heck with it and unplug the iron. I'm trying to make one twelve inch block a day, and usually when I'm seriously quilting, I can bang our four or five, but this pattern has half the blocks consisting of 2.5" HSTs and after several quilts last year with those tiny components, I'm getting sort of sick of them. LOL. This was a twenty block New Year's Day mystery quilt, and it needs to be a thirty blocker minimum to be useful to me. I'll get there.

Hi Bill, I love the block you made. the way you fussy cut the flowers so they peek into the center square is great. I like the blue combo too, but that red combo really stuck to me, I think I 'need' it. I don't know how I can justify it to myself though other than that I just 'need' it. The coasters are darling. I saw the link to them, and was in too much of a hurry to check it out throughly. You said they were easy to make, that sounds good to me. I need some quick and east projects to make as Christmas gifts. I promised myself to get started early this year. That sounds like just the perfect one to get started with. I like the idea of the batting too. A coaster should be absorbent and I think that would work better. Looks like you've had a busy and productive weekend. I've started cutting out a Triple Irish chain quilt top. It was in Fons and Porter March/April issue. I'm doing it in the green too. It's for my Son. I started him one last year and I find out he doesn't like red and the one I was making him was mostly red. I finished it up and gave it to my niece. I'm happy with this one, both because he likes greens and I like making him a quilt he will enjoy. He has no idea I'm making him a quilt. Hopefully I'll have it all finished up before he leaves out for the Middle East again Next month. If life don't interfere with my fun, It shouldn't be a problem. I had This end Up furniture too !! We bought it in Chapel Hill NC in 1977. We got the sofa and 2 chairs and the footstool and coffee table and end table. We then added a set of bunk beds and the chest of drawers in 1979. It has had 3 different covers on the furniture. My middle son still has the chairs/sofa/coffee table and end table. They are as good as they were when they were new. We sold the bunk beds and chest in 2000. You did a great job on the mirror !! c
