argh...I need help with my master bedroom
Comments (7)I also love the linen/white look. Unlike you and ingrid, I love the look of long, flowing, white curtains in a bedroom... but I can see how they would be boring to some. I will be going with a similar look on my bed-- mostly ivory with either linen or pale blue/green accents and layers. I had planned to use bosporus flax fabric to make a duvet but I wasnt thrilled with the look of it on my bed. I threw it over a curtain rod and am currently loving the idea of it for panels. It is pale enough to be like a neutral but adds some interest to the white-linen color scheme. Bosporus Flax would be less flexible .. but there are other colorways in the bosporus toile pattern that should coordinate with lots of colors as accents. Just an idea...See MoreMaster bedroom help .. Please help me select bed .. can’t decide !
Comments (51)I'm not a fan of any of those options...for various reasons. Mostly because the style/scale as well as the tone doesn't look like it would compliment the bed.....although without links hard to know. The Bernhardt nightstands in your pic from Haverty's are 40 W x30 H x21 D. That is why they don't look dwarfed by the bed. Do you have room to do something like the pic Penny posted? Basically a simple open rectangle with a sturdy leg? Another thing I'd consider is taking a look at kids' dressers/desks. Some are even similar in size and shape to the Bernhardt nightstands.... https://www.perigold.com/furniture/pdp/smiling-hill-4-drawer-dresser-sta6494.html?piid=17238112 Another approach would be multi-tiered side tables, not these exact ones obviously, but again something with enough heft and presence to play nicely with that bed....See MoreHELP! I HATE my master bedroom and decided it needs a revamp
Comments (51)Well hello Sarah. Good for you. I see you and your husband are okay with painting the room. Bottom line Sarah you are the ones who have to be happy with the room after all you and your husband are the ones who have to live with it and painting it again is no fun. Originally you wanted to make the room feel bigger. It is up for debate; some say darker colors do the job, others light. Anything that reflects light in a room makes it feel bigger such as mirrors, wall lights and I believe, lighter walls. I ask, what color makes you and your husband happy and gets you excited? Also what color is closest to your duvet? Do you want to match the duvet or go just one color lighter? It does seem as if this project is driving you up the wall. Ouch. My wish is that you had a room upstairs that you could turn into a master. BTW the one with a touch of grey looks great. Best wishes, Marcie...See MoreI need help designing my Master Bedroom!
Comments (86)So I lost the opportunity on that dresser. Apparently a friend was refinishing the top and his wife fell in love with it. I’ll keep my eye out for something similar. The sad thing is, that one was a well known brand. So I felt I was getting good quality. This one showed up and I like it…it’s half the price but no brand or stamp mentioned. So I’m guessing quality might not be there. But looks good, right? The drawers are dovetailed and he says they glide well....See MoreCarolina
