Looking for GW posts of turned edge applique blocks

I know in years past I have seen posts of beautiful floral turned edge applique blocks that members of the GW Quilting Forum have made and posted, but I am not so good at searching for these posts and my computer has crashed many times since seeing these posts so unfortunately I no longer have them bookmarked on my computer. If any of you can please help me find some of these posts it would be most appreciated. And if any of you have made some of these beautiful flower turned edge applique blocks can you please post some photos / pics on this post for me? In 2015 my sister is wanting me to make her some "unique" quilt blocks to frame to decorate her guest bedroom with and I thought one of these floral turned edge applique blocks would be beautiful and "unique". If any of you can share links to these type of patterns online that would be most appreciated to. If I could find a pattern to print out instead of having to draw from scratch I would prefer that. Thank you all for your help with this!

Sandra,

I used "turned edge applique" in my search on GW and this was the only post that seemed to really have anything close to what you are searching for. Others that have done applique may be more help.

Sandra, this is a photo of one of the blocks from Baltimore Blues from Fat Cat Patterns. Sindy has lots of applique patterns and many are free.

I just finished my 3rd birdhouse last night. When I showed them to my quilting buddies, they tried to talk me out of sending them in to the lotto (guess they really liked them:) Must admit to having a whole lot of fun w/this project. What I am doing is starting another batch of blocks. Mine ended up being birdhouses in the different seasons (not sure why, it just happened that way) When I do this next group, I'll do 4 & insert each block into the panes of an old window frame I have. I just need to alter the size slightly to fit the openings. My mom made one that is 4 snowmen & it is so darn cute!! If mine turns out half as good I'll be quite happy:) Going to put my lotto blocks in the mail this weekend so the temptation to keep them is gone!

I can't believe you have that together already!! And it's beautiful!! I also can't believe you made sense of that PP block I did. I really fought with that pattern. I will remember about using the insulated batting, too. I bought some extra when I did my bottle holders and that will be a great use for them. I enjoyed doing that snowflake pattern, I'm thinking I will do more of them. Robbi

Thanks for the concern and understanding Cathy. We have been spared accumulating snow right where we live, but the wind is ferocious and bitter. We moved the generator where we can get to it in case we need it for the frig and heat- we lose power if Mother Nature sneezes. It has been a bad, horrible winter for us, lots of damage and business loss in the area, so I am looking forward to spring. This was a fun looking block and it will make a nice project for the winner. Good luck everyone!

Love seeing this photo! I had the chance to meet at least 6 in the area of Richmond and Williamsburg Virginia a few years back before leaving Yorktown to move back to Florida for retirement. I LOVED seeing the 'surreal' GIRLS IRL! They were exactly as I thought they were! And we were like strangers who already KNEW a lot of us... hearing 'This is like what you have in your house, MR...' was like... 'this stranger I am with has seen my house'!!! LOL how FUN..because we ALL shared a common interest! And even after I moved away from them, we are all still close friends on FB and by email... we still share ideas.... I will soon be searching out people in Central to South Florida area, I have already met some on FB. DID we EVER think that our days of being on decorating boards could turn into life-long friendships? LOVE stories like this and the photos!!! Thanks so much for sharing!

This is the only turned edge I've done. The blocks are from Edyta Sitar's 'Hop To It'. I love the project but only did 5 blocks and can't seem to get back to working on it. Someday I'll finish it.

Glad to help!
I used (am using) all batiks which are so tightly woven they aren't always "needle friendly" but I love the colors. For the background I used Kona Snow.

I looked at the Fat Cat site.
I tried to register to see the free patterns but my e-mail kept bouncing back.
Anyone know another way to access the free ones?

You are talking my language :-) I have done over 20 blocks of a Baltimore album quilt, but I can't seem to find one picture one my computer. All the blocks are needle turn applique. Give me a few days, and I will see if I can't get some pictures for you.
