I live in yoga pants;) I just get them where ever, I find ones that fit and are not too long~~~not tight ones, they are just like elastic waisted knit pants with stretch in them~~it is kinda bad how I wear them so much:(

Target has some nice work out pants, shirts and jackets... not sure right now, what brand... but they look very much like what I like to wear.

Otherwise, look at an Academy if you have one nearby.

I lucked out at Dollar General years back, and bought a pant and jacket, 2 pr, that I wear religiously to the gym. $5 for each, pants and jackets> Get multi compliments!

I love yoga pants, and I am addicted to the ones from Old Navy. I bought multiple pairs in various colors of black, brown, and gray. They have them in Capri length as well as full. They are now carrying some different ones that I don't care for and I really will be disappointed if they don't continue with the ones I have been buying. They are extremely popular and sell a lot of them. I don't buy much else there but those yoga pants are a great quality product. I have had some of them for probably 4 years and still looking good. At times they have sales of buy one get one half price, I stock up. But prices are very reasonable. I don't care for their compression pants line. They do have some good light weight hoodies too.
My husband loves their cargo shorts.

I wear my yoga pants all the time they look very nice and casual.

Yoga pants and a tee shirt

For exercise, I walk and work out at the gym (bike, treadmill, Naurilus). I have to have a pocket for my iPhone and music. My yoga pants don't have any; maybe some do. I have never been successful with iPhone holders,clips, etc. I wear shorts to the gym and long pants, sometimes sweats, sometimes terry capris outdoors if it's too cold for shorts. I wear T shirts to the gym and layer outside, long sleeve shirts, fleece, winter jacket, depending on the day. All my pants have pockets and that's what I look for in new ones.

I wear athletic shorts and tee shirts most of the time for my workouts. For cooler temps or doing yoga or lifting weights, I wear a tee shirt with yoga pants. I like the quick-dry synthetic materials much better than cotton. I have the tees in long and short sleeve and just layer a jacket or fleece top on if needed. Most of what I have is the Danskin brand from Wal Mart. I have some of the Champion brand from Target too. I don't need sweats for my workouts (too hot). I do wear them sometimes if I'm just taking a leisurely stroll and won't get really hot or around the house in winter. I've had good luck with the Hanes stuff. I love yoga pants just for wearing around the house too; they are very comfortable.

I just bought some of the workout wear from Target last week. They look ok, but the legs pilled up some the first time I wore them.

I've had luck with JCPenney clothes in the past. Not sure what they carry now.

You might also try Academy if you have one near you.

I wear Costco's yoga pants..they come in different lengths(tall, average, short)...as well as capri in the spring and summer..they do not carry them all year, they come and go..so I grab a pair or two when I see them.
They have a pocket that holds my phone when out on a walk. It's right in the top of the waist band.
They support well..
I have a pair from Big 5 that are cotton..I do not wear those in public. ;)

Thanks, Teri. I'll check out Costco for yoga pants with pockets next time I go. I just put 4 pair from Costco( several years old) in the Goodwill box as they have no pockets.

I asked a similar question on Home Decorating Conversations. I just bought some Cuddle Dud (dumb name) to wear under some active pants I got on Sierra Trading Post. The pants have nice pockets, which I miss in most of my yoga pants.

Knew you folks would give me great advice. Just got in from shopping . Lots of trying on comfortable pants. Learned you really have to try on to check for fit. Went to several stores and about 20 pairs later, I have one pair so far. Danskin from walmart seemed to fit the best. I weigh about hundred pounds with a brick in my pocket, and 5 feet tall. It can be a challenge when you add in the fact that I am 75 years old. Got my interest with the cuddl duds. Already checking into those. I thank each of you for your advice and will continue shopping at more stores looking for more. Bought two down jackets yesterday, one with sleeves and one without. The yoga pants I purchased are not tight, so think I can wear them other than exercise. Thank you again for all your help. You folks are the best.

I don't do yoga, but do a lot of very fast walking daily & heavy gardening for solid exercise throughout the day. I dislike denim material, but love 100% cotton knit (must have good-sized pockets) for both pants & top.

I've been buying such pants from Lands End (almost always in black, but occasionally blue). I'll buy half a dozen pairs at a time. They are the dreaded elastic waist-band kind but my tops are always tunic-type anyway so think I look relatively stylish. I've had good luck finding attractive cotton t-shirts, both short & long-sleeve, in both typical & unusual styles & colors at thrift shops on the cheap for variety.

All of the yoga pants and the Capri length from Old Navy that I purchased have two pockets, I prefer having pockets too. I think some don't but some definitely do.

I also have some of the Danskin from Walmart, they are a much thinner fabric and tend to stretch out quickly. They are comfortable though.

Old navy is on my list for tomorrow. I do like having pockets. Will look online to see if they have petite.

I prefer Danskin as they wear well. However, you are correct, you do have to try them on as they have different types that are slim fitting, then those that say loose but I find them to be tight in the chest. Hanes sometimes has shirts that I like, like a teeshirt but a better fit, V neck which I like cause I don't like something tight around my nceck when I am excerising. I prefer Capri length but I live in Florida and workout inside. For walking outside in the really cold weather, Cuddle Duds are great under the looser Danskins as they aren't bulky.
