I know how you are feeling. These days when someone so much as sneezes or coughs around me, I cringe. I have a newborn that I am trying to keep healthy. My five year old always seems to always bring germs home from school. So far so good at keeping the baby well. I take extra Vit C when I feel compromised and I am still taking my prenatal vitamins. Hope you stay well.

Why oh why do people do this? I would never go to someone's home ill.

If they had it for weeks you should be safe since viruses are more contagious early on. But you were right to spray everything down.

Responsible parents do not take a child out with a fever. What were they thinking? Oh they weren't! Poor little kid.

Hope whatever they brought in you already have an immunity to Glenda. Stay warm and hydrated and get plenty of rest even if you don't feel sick. it's the best way to stave off the germies.

I caught a cold for Christmas! I'm SO happy. Not. Started feeling icky the 23rd before company got here.
Christmas Day I think 6 of us were stuffed up, or runny nose, or coughing or sinus headaches.

Start pumping in the Vitamin C, too, along with the Airborne. When I feel I'm "coming down with a bug" I start taking 500-1,000 mg of Vitamin C every four hours. It seems to work for me.

So happy for you that you were able to have the day with your DS and DIL and whomever the others were, Glenda. Although it'll be lousy if you get a cold, I hope that spending the day with them was a positive thing and worth the risk.

Maybe I am over zealous in trying to stay healthy:

I press elevator buttons with my elbow and try to hold my breath while in there, and inconspicuously put my hand over my nose.

I avoid going near the pharmacy section in stores where all those sick people are waiting for there meds.

And if I must go to a medical facility, I do not touch the reading material that has been handled by many.

Then, being an old nurse, I wash wash wash my hands.

I do many of the same things except for holding my breath.

If someone coughs or sneezes I refuse to walk through the area. I will take a different path.

I push doors open with my hip or I let someone else get there first.

I will not eat at a buffet during cold and flu season.

The only time I catch a cold is when DH brings one home. He thinks I'm over phobic. I say I only get an occasional cold from HIM. He just got another one. I'm sleeping n the guest room and my mantra (he calls it nagging) is WASH YOUR HANDS!

Good luck, Glenda. When I taught pre-K I got sick twice a year-the sick that lasts and lasts. Once I retired--none of that, so you're right in being fearful of those children. Why parents take them around others is selfish to me. If I were you, I'd stick close to home in case your immunity has been compromised--don't expose yourself to anything else. Good luck!!

I've noticed that the receptionists at our doctor's practice are always there, always well. Guess they've got immunities to germs most of us would never realize exist! I was thinking about that after DH put his hands on the counter where we sign in and I gave him 'the look'. LOL

I can't believe anyone would take a child with a fever anywhere. Not only should a sick child be home, but its nervy to risk exposing everyone. I don't like being around coughing people, but they probably aren't contagious, but the feverish kids certainly were!

Glenda I hope you've avoided catching anything! My great nephew was a little off on Christmas day. They had him at the hospital next day. He has Strep Throat and Scarlet Fever! I have been gargling and disinfecting everythnig as well. Poor little guy is not feeling well at all.

I feel sorry for that poor, sick baby being taken out of home. It's pretty selfish of the parents to put their "want to go" before their child's health. Too late now, but I think you've done all you can to avoid catching whatever it is they gifted your home with!!

So far so good, as of Monday am.

Went to pool and had a good workout.
