I just finished mine. Got busy this morning, and sort of "forgot" about them. :)

Daughter is here, and the regular schedules are out the door.

I recently bought a used 20" cut that is a bare bones model. Very lightweight with a 3.5 HP engine and no bells or wistles. I prefer my snapper self propelled but rented a house with a very rough terrain full of pine cones and something called sweet gum cones. I believe the are very hard on the mower blade and there are roots sticking up everywhere. I do not want to ruin my good snapper. Anyways I see similar models for sale at Walmart for around $130 new. They are very lightweight. Or you could check out Sears newer and more expensive rechargeable mowers. Hope this helps.

Anyone Use Wii for Exercise?

My DH and I are seniors also and we got our wii fit plus for Christmas. We really love it! I think you can actually try it at places like Walmart and Best Buy. At first I thought I wouldn't like the 'cartoon' like mii people, but it sort of makes it more fun. There is yoga, strength, aerobics, balance, and some really silly but fun things to do. You can flap your arms like a chicken and land on different posts until you land on a ship. Yes, it's silly but you are moving your arms. Another game is step aerobics with a line of other mii people. The Hoola Hoop is fun and works your waist. There is jogging through the little mii town. A punching bag game to work your arms. There is a bicycle exercise (you step as if you are on a bicycle).My favorite game is the Obstacle Course that has you running, jumping and dodging objects. And oh so much more. You can do a mix of whatever you feel like doing. I do about 30 minutes nearly every day. You will need wii fit plus, the console to play it, and a balance board. It is a fixed price of about $300, but if you shop around you may find a store offering a bonus of a gift card or something extra. It is definately a good investment. And if you have children or grandkids over, they can do the exercises also because they are so much fun. You can go to nintendo wii online and see real people including us 'more mature people' doing the exercises. Go for it! Linda Leaf

I don't think this has a thing to do with menopause. You talk about relaxing and it lasts all evening. Do you exercise after eating? It seems to me that is your problem. Your food doesn't have time to digest before you exercise so it produces gas

Anyone have success with Leslie Sansone Walk at Home dvds?

I've used several of her tapes, and if you can do the workout, it's great. She is a little to perky for me, but after doing the tape a few times, I can mute the sound, and still follow along. I use them mostly in the summer when it's already 90 degrees at 6 am, and only going higher. I can't take that level of heat. Yes, lots of sidesteps and kicks. One can use hand weights or not, to increase the level of the workout. Overall, I'd say it't a good workout. Don't buy the 1-mile DVD. Go for the 4 or 5 mile one. Each workout is divided into 1 mile segments, so you can do any segment you want.

For strengthening the arms, shoulders and upper back
A low stress exercise:

Start with one 5-lb potato sack and do bicep lifts. If all goes well after one week, add a second sack and exercise both arms simultaneously. At the end of the second week, if your arms feel ok, consider addng some weight to the empty sacks - or not. :)

Nope, school was cancelled today because of ice on the road and wind chill. That meant I was home with the kids. I have lost 4 lbs in the last couple of weeks by watching my diet.

I finally found my Leslie Sansone Walk away the pounds video tapes and did half a mile. Since I haven't done them in so long I didn't want to over do them.

I love the one mile walk from Walking tape number two.

Hi Moni thanks for starting up the exercising thread. I have been so busy with house projects and working that exercising has gone by the wayside.However that is going to change real fast. I loved the way you feel after doing the walking tapes or pilates. So as soon as this holiday is over I will be back to my exercising routine. I cannot believe I used to do the 5 mile tape and felt great. Merry Christmas to you all!

I just finished the one mile walk YEAH!!! I didn't do the upper arm exercises that go with the walk I'll build up to doing them again.
