Hubby is fixing himself a steak. I will have potato leak soup and bread, both of which I made today! Loads of snow today. Hubby spent eight hours snowblowing driveways for relatives. Patti, that is such a long drive for an eye appointments and the idea of that kind of traffic makes me shudder!

Have not been outside since Monday. Faint, that's most unusual for me.

I had sausage rotel dip and chips. Had prepared this for Christmas, didn't use so I froze it.

Once again my neighbour knocked on our door and offered us fresh fish. He baked 2 huge rainbow trout, they filled a large aluminum roasting pan. He also made broccoli, sweet potatoes and a salad. It was really good! He's such a nice guy, and I give him fresh-baked bread periodically.

My son was called into work again today but took the leftovers to work and put them in the refrigerator to bring to me when he was done. First wk he's ever taken all at once for a vacation....very disappointing to be called in to work for two of them.

I got lots of ham, and some turkey breast. I made creamed turkey for my meal tonight. Put it over mashed potatoes and had a side of steamed mixed vegetables. It was worth the wait.

Yes, Patti, I'm sick of cooking. DS left for home today so dinner tonight is whatever you feel like helping yourself to. There's ham for ham sandwiches (the sides went home with DS along with lots of ham, Mexican soup (or white chili as it really should be known as), mushroom and barley soup, fish chowder and a tray of chicken scarpariello....he'll eat good for a while. There's fish chowder, there's mushroom and barley soup and some chicken scarpariello.. I'm still in my bathrobe, letting the bod rejuvenate and am officially on strike

Glenda, that's unheard of for you to be home for so long!! But the weather hasn't been all that great, so you're wise to stay in. Does it snow in B'ham? If I had that rotel dip, I'd stay home 'til it was gone!

Jasdip, I'm drooling over the rainbow trout. It's so delicious! But you're both good neighbors--takes one to know one. Better hope he doesn't move anytime soon ;-)

Shirley, I feel bad for your son that he can't even take a whole week off without being called in. Hope he asks for a big salary increase at his next evaluation! Glad he brought you the leftovers. You sure are creative. That turkey (which I think is my favorite meat) sounds delish!

Kathleen, I sure will be glad when you can retire. I feel for you every time I read about how many hours/days you work. Quiche is a good, relatively easy meal and everybody seems to like it.

I have chili cooking. I am tired of leftovers and it is cold,, high in the 20's, but thankful the wind isn't blowing!

I'm having potato soup, made from a mix that was in my neighbor's Christmas package to me. Smells good, and I'm having a slice of homemade bread with it.

Chicken with pasta and veggies, baked acorn squash and a salad.It's chilly and rainy here and my arthritic knee is rebelling against spending any more time in the kitchen.

It looks like it wants to rain outside and we really need it. I made a wonderful tomato soup from Pioneer Woman. It is so easy to make and delicious. Having buttered bread with it.

Georgysmom--that was exactly what I did yesterday. Stayed in my jammies all day. Told Harry when I got up I wasn't going to do anything all day, and I didn't. Well, I did take a nap ;-) Slept really good last night and felt normal this morning (whatever normal is).

Trixie, you sure get a lot of wind in Texas. After it leaves you it heads across the Gulf and we get it, but not like y'all do. Chili will be nice and warming.

Mamatoad, my whole body rebelled against the kitchen yesterday. Hope your knee is feeling better tomorrow. It sounds like you spent plenty of time in the kitchen from your menu--which sounds delicious, BTW!

Nita, I read PW's soup recipe and it sounds really good, except I don't think I've ever seen the chicken gloopy stuff (I forgot what it was called already) and the cooking sherry. I'd use just regular sherry as that cooking wine stuff has way too much salt for me. I have this stuff called "Busha Brown's hot sherry". We had it in the Keys at a restaurant with lobster bisque. They had bottles of it on the table, to add to the bisque. Man, was it good. When we got home I ordered some off the internet. Still have a whole bottle. Guess I need to make that tomato soup, huh?

Today I made the Black Eyed Pea soup that I make about this time every year. Had a bowl of it for supper, and have 6 containers in the freezer. Sure is good on a cold day.

Just had some Spritz while I watched a little TV. Going to bed in a few minutes.
