Dinner tonight?

I've really been wanting a nice big lamb chop with a baked potato.

We'll see.

That's IF I make it to Costco tonight.

And IF I feel like cooking after shopping, hauling everything up three flights of stairs and putting it all away.

That's a BIG "IF"

Left over Roasted Chicken. I used left over potatoes from last night to make potato soup for lunch.

I think I have a little left over okra from last night too. It's gonna be one of those slap it together nights.

Man, I miss fried okra. And hushpuppies.
Haven't had either since I was in Dallas years ago.

John, I quite liked them and DH looked quite keen when I said he could have the extra one. He also said he’d like it again. Really they were pretty easy and straightforward to make, even in my (limited space and equipment) city kitchen. I’d do them again as is, and I might experiment with a version without mushrooms but with sun dried tomatoes and kalamata olives for a more Mediterranean flavour... Please, feel free to take the idea and run with it! Let us know how you went :-)

That sounds like a German thing. The way I have had it is that the prune is wrapped in dough and the cooked like that. I guess your family just shortcut it, since it is really the same thing, just in a different form. That is much the origin of Penn Dutch slippery pot pie. Instead of actually making a pot pie they just slipped pieces of the dough into the hot pot of stew. It is easier and quicker and really the same thing. Last week I made for the second time some Momos, which are filled dumplings. It seems to be a popular thing around that part of the world that includes Tibet. Darn, they were good! Thinking of that again today. They are like Goyza dumplings. It is an acquired skill to fill and form the noodles. You use lots of cilantro, ginger and garlic. It seems that a lot of cultures have some kind of a filled noodle or dumpling or peroige or ravioli.

It depends on what else is on them. Tomatoes plus oil and seasoning from the oven where the bacteria have been burned off have four hours from the time they're below 140 degrees of total safety. Under a dome of some kind to protect from contamination, theoretically, more. Realistically, with no pet detritus, open windows, flies, raw poultry being prepped, or wandering people paws, I wouldn't hesitate to eat them forgotten to the next morning. With other challenges, right now, best not to do that, but still, a few hours are no problem.

Thanks for asking. Really pretty simple. I take malted butter and add minced garlic. Dip dried chicken pieces in that . Then in a mixture of equal parts freshly grated Parmesan and bread crumbs, I use panko if I have it. that has been seasoned with Italian seasoning , pepper. I didn’t add salt as the parm tends to be a bit salty. However, I am a salt pig so I would have if I wasn’t worried about the health aspect. Let that chill for a bit then bake. I prefer chicken thigh. anyway, the kids love it.

$hit on a shingle and scrambled eggs. Actually the shingle part is going to be Pillsbury Grands Biscuits. Haven't had $hit on a shingle for probably 30 years, and I have never eaten those Grands Biscuits. Totally bad for us, but it sounded soooo good. At least the eggs will be egg beaters with veggies chopped up in them.

Then we will have Peanut Butter Meltaways for dessert later. I made them today. We will cut and divy them up for the neighbors tonight and they will be purged from the house early tomorrow morning before we can eat anymore!

I made the Chicken Enchilada soup. Haven't eaten yet though.

Friday date night!!!! =)

No clue what we will eat...possibly an Irish Pub tonight. Whatever it is...I won't have to cook!!

Left over spaghetti and a half a gallon of milk! :0)
We are leaving for two weeks and both will spoil before we get home. I don't have enough room in my freezer or I would just freeze it.

Center cut steak, mashed potatoes and succatash with white corn.
No dessert :-(
I just got home today from being at daughter's since last Sunday, so it was something easy and simple.

Lunched with DF, before we got in my kitchen cooking caramel cheetos!
I had my usual, spinach salad, and she had chicken crepes and salad!

Yummm, she let me taste hers!

I had a grilled cheese sandwich on Italian crusty bread with a side of 2 clementines. LOL I want pizza so bad though. Real pizzeria style pizza.

I was too lazy to cook tonight.

I had a chili concoction that I threw together, along with wonderful hot cornbread. Lots of red and kidney beans.

Then I made a crockpot full of chicken veggie soup. It smells wonderful all the way across the house to the computer room. I am freezing most of these batches so I won't have to cook again soon. I do not like cooking any more.

I ordered myself a Christmas present from
Amazon tonight. A red KitchenAid stand mixer. Have wanted one for 50 years. We'll see if I get any more cooking done!
