What's For Supper?

I have home made chicken and noodle soup in the crockpot for my supper. Rode to Pendleton this morning to go to the vet with Amber and her dogs. We had lunch at Dairy Queen. Snow blowing like you were in a snow globe. On the way home it was almost a white out! Some few miles from home no snow at all, just the windy conditions and that is pretty much how it is now. Cheryl and Amber hung up my new living room drapes. We ran out of the curtain rings so have to buy another package. They also got the things out and decorated my mantle. I got one Christmas card to day from the KT. Thanks Gramzee in MD. Did anyone else get cards? What is for you supper this evening?

I have some stew meat in the pressure cooker. And also have a meatloaf ready to go in the oven later. I don't know which I'll have for my supper.

I was thinking of giving you a shout out about your weather so I'd know approximately what to expect here in Ohio tomorrow. We don't always get what you do, but fairly often. I don't want the snow, and I don't like the very windy conditions we're getting right now. Maybe I can take a pill that lets me sleep through winter. LOL

Pasta with pesto sauce and cornbread. I had homemade lentil soup for lunch. I will also have an artichoke with my pasta.

rhizo, do you mean that you sub'd sliced zucchini for the lasagna noodles, or that you added zucchini to the meat & cheese filling? either way sounds good. Quick dinner here too -- hot day, so I made tuna & pasta salad, sweet corn, and sliced tomatoes and zucchini.

Your chicken sounds good, jasdip. I brought some Napa the other day, for a stirfry. I like it, when I can remember to pick some up. Hi, Kath....I'm so sorry that you resort to frozen dinners; that's not much fun and not healthy, if you do it often. I think that "just you" is important! But I have friends who stopped cooking entirely the minute they could. I appreciate that. Sounds like my kind of meal, satine! Almost any kind of meat tastes better with a salad under it, lol. Ellendi, leftovers are a treat, aren't they? Most of my meals are planned with leftovers in mind.

rhizo, I sprinkled some dry ranch dressing on pork chops and roasted them in the oven at 450. The chops were juicy and tasty. I went easy on the dressing but will press more on each pork chop next time. I used almost one packet of dressing. I did not add the salt called for in the recipe, The dressing mix has quite enough sodium. I don't usually cook with processed products but I made an exception. We enjoyed them. recipe

Some chicken things from the trader joes freezer case, not that impressed. And I used the spiralizer I got for Christmas to make zucchini noodles. I sautéed them in butter, olive oil and garlic. I thought they looked really pretty and tasted good. Kids not impressed.

It's been a busy day so dinner is a ham steak, leftover potato casserole and English peas. I woke up feeling really good--must've slept well last night. So I did 3 loads of laundry and got that all put away, cleaned out both refrigerators and washed all the storage containers, finished the new TV stand (the "boys" left all the danged sticky instructions on it), cut up the rest of the leftover turkey breast and "food savered" 7 cups of cut up turkey. Now between the chicken I did before T-giving, I have 13 cups (2 cups in each bag +1 one cup) for soups this winter. I cooked the turkey carcass (sp ??) for extra broth.

I wanted to get the new valances up, but only made it as far as getting the ladder in the bedroom. That will be a tomorrow job.

It's been a beautiful day and the sun is shining. It's about 80, but the forecast isn't looking so hot for tonight and tomorrow. At least ours will be in the form of rain. I worry about our KT friends who are in the snow storm today.

I think it's gonna be "You're on you're own around here...I'm busy decorating and cleaning and will probably just fix a sandwich...

Mmmmmmm, that chicken noodle soup sounds wonderful. Today is DH's birthday so he got to choose what he wanted for supper. Big mistake! Of course he wants fried pork chops, mashed taters, white gravy and corn. I pointed out an absence of a green vegetable and he said he's OK with that. LOL It's his birthday so I guess he can have that one day out of the year. I never fry food anymore....and I can't remember the last time I made white gravy. Hope I remember how!

We are having split pea soup and grilled ham and cheese sandwiches.there is caramel cake that was an office gift today,so there is some of that for dessert if anyone wants some.

Dh had a hamburger, I will have a patty. I cut up mushrooms and red onions and Tillamook cheese to put on all. I am not hungry yet, but probably will be soon.
Just taking it easy.
Tomorrow will be a bigger spread for the Survivor party.

Shake and bake boneless pork chops. I had never tried the shake n bake, it was really good. With that, carrot souffle, and corn on the cob.
