I used to make this years ago and somehow have lost the recipe.

If anyone has it I would appreciate a copy, either posted here or in my email addy on My Page.

I have googled and haven't found it.

TIA

Apple juice with cinnamon schnapps is a very good holiday drink. And of course there's always eggnog. Here are two recipes that are very good. Christmas Punch and Hot Buttered Rum. Christmas Punch 1/2 cup white sugar 2 cups orange juice 2/3 cup lemon juice 1 (4 ounce) jar maraschino cherries, with juice 1 fluid ounce triple sec liqueur 1 (750 milliliter) bottle light rum 1 orange, sliced into rounds 1 lemon, sliced into rounds 1 (8 ounce) can pineapple chunks 1 liter carbonated water Directions 1 In a punch bowl combine sugar, orange and lemon juice, stirring until sugar dissolves. Add cherries, triple sec, light rum, orange slices, lemon slices, and pineapple chunks. Set for 1-2 hours to allow flavors to blend. 2 Add carbonated water and ice just before serving. Hot Buttered Rum Ingredients 1 cup unsalted butter, softened 1 (16 ounce) package confectioners' sugar, sifted 1 pound light brown sugar, packed 1 quart vanilla ice cream, softened Directions 1 In a large bowl cream the butter and the sugars together until smooth. Add the softened ice cream and mix until a creamy consistency is obtained. Transfer this to a freezer container with a tight fitting lid. Place in the freezer for up to 1 month. 2 To Serve: Place a heaping 2 tablespoons of the frozen mix in a highball glass or coffee mug. Add 1 to 2 tablespoons dark rum. Pour over the mix 6 ounces of boiling water and stir until the mixture is melted. Sprinkle top with cinnamon or nutmeg and serve forth!

There is a product that is like a non dairy whipped cream. Pastry Pride and Flavor Right are two brands. You whip it up like whipped cream but it has the consistency of icing. It tastes fine on it's own and is extremely low sugar and dairy free. You can flavor it with cocoa powders, pudding mix or custard mix. You can even mix cream cheese into it. I use it more for fillings ( makes a lovely custard) than I do icing since everyone loves my buttercream. But it does taste good and is extremely stable. It pipes well. You can freeze the unwhipped and even freeze it whipped. It can be left out at room temperature even in warm conditions for 24 hours and remain stable. It does tend to crust however after a longer time out. If I can't use buttercream for some reason I use it. It is excellent in hot weather. The only icing I can't stand is fondant. It looks good and you can look like an artist without too much practice creating fabulous "looking" cakes but I prefer not to have to chew my icing. LOL

I do like peaches, and we have a peach tree in the yard, so I'll have a good supply this summer. We had the biggest crop of peaches last year since we planted it a few years ago. I hope my costume turns out well. My friend (the one who's house where a couple of my high school friends get together at every so often-we haven't done that in forever) is helping me with it. She's great at sewing and better at it than I am lol. My best friend was over one day and he braided some of the wire for me and added a few icy blue acrylic jewels to it (I got them and a pack of white/clear ones at Wal-Mart on clearance one day). I like the look of it, but we shall see when the time comes how everything works out. I can't wait to start on it! Brad AKA Moonwolf

Yes, I serve it hot. Great on a cold snowy night especially. I keep it hot in the crock pot and always like to have it ready on Christmas day, and following, for anyone who might drop in.

I can probably wing it and come up with something similar, but the right proportions would be better.

I found it!

I have an old notebook type recipe book
where I've kept recipes clipped from newspapers and magazines, pasted into. I looked through it last night and found the recipe on a slip of paper, not pasted in. I know I used it last Christmas, so I guess I just put it in there and of course forgot where it was.

Here it is. Try it. I think you will like it. It can be kept in the fridge and reheated.

HOT PUNCH

2 small pkg black cherry Jello
2 small pkg lemon Jello
Dissolve Jello in 8 cups hot water.
Add 2 quarts apple juice and 1 large can pineapple juice
Keep hot in crock pot.

Thanks for trying to help me.

Glad you found it. I saw some similar recipes that said to serve it cold or put an ice mold in or something and was wondering if it could just be served warm. Sounds extremely sweet but does sound interesting. I used to drink some of the Jell-O "juice" when making Jell-O and it was tasty so I'm sure this would be great on a cold night. Should be easy to modify for different flavors too.

I used a small 3-ring binder for recipes for a long time too. Worked well. Some pages were handwritten, some typed, some were clippings taped onto a blank sheet and it had hand made section dividers. Still works well and being the smaller size it used 1/2 sheets of paper and was not clumsy at all. I need to transfer the best recipes into the computer someday. Then back it up. It'll happen.... someday.... maybe.
