Ya gotta love the phone company

Our phone (landline) went out on the 19th. My husband called the phone company from work (because our phone at home was dead) and reported the problem, giving them our home e-mail and his work phone number. Got an e-mail at home saying the problem would be fixed by 5 pm on the 20th.

You guessed it! No repairman on Monday nor on Tuesday. Tuesday evening got an e-mail saying they "were unable to meet the repair schedule". We knew that!

Wednesday was the same, no repairman, but a message saying that they didn't come. Well, duh!

Thursday, Christmas Eve, my husband got on the web, found out how to repair the problem, ran a new line from the box to our den, and we had phone service! This was rather important to us since we wanted to call his 92-year-old mother on Christmas Day and somehow didn't think that the phone company would be of much help in getting through to her.

However, after my husband had fixed the problem, we got an automated phone call from the phone company at 9 am on Christmas morning to tell us that the problem had been fixed!

Ya gotta love the phone company! If nothing else, it generates a lot of chuckles.
