Robert, I think it is important for people near Talihina to know there is a market there that features locally grown produce. So, thanks for answering my question. If you get in trouble with Admin, refer them to me because you're just answering a question I asked. For all the rest of you, if you're interested in buying or selling at the Talihina Market, I've linked Robert's document below so all you have to do is click on it and read it. Not everyone has endless space (like you do!) to grow everything they want to grow, so for them, buying locally at the market could help them supplement what they can grow in the space they have. Today, Tim was stumbling around the narrow garden paths I have between my wide rows, and I told him that if I had twice the fenced garden space, I'd have wider pathways. Do you know what he had the nerve to say? He said, "no you wouldn't have wider paths, you'd just plant twice as much as you plant now". I couldn't even keep a straight face and insist that I would too have wider paths, because I knew I wouldn't. I knew I'd just have twice as many wide rows, and twice as many narrow paths. Hey Calamity, I'm Canadian too! Slow, I think I would have to go check out a place called Electric Cowboy. You have far more get up and go than I do. You are so lucky to have found a handyman who will work in "bits and pieces" they are almost impossible to find here - doing good work at a fair price, in small "bits and pieces". We have HUGE bits and pieces coming, I found a great guy to do our whole renovation. We tried to have a yard sale this weekend. We had GREAT STUFF, but nobody came. The weather was "cold" at 55 degrees!! All that work to set everything up, then I had to pack it all into the van (I was determined to get it in there at one load) and we took it to the thrift store. Hubby spent the weekend dismantling an entire metal kitchen set from the 40's in which every element had been painted on several times. The patience that man displayed. I'd have been bored out of my TREE! But every plastic, chrome or bakelite piece had to be removed for stripping and powder coating or re-chroming. They did not tell us this until we got it all the way out to the coaters!! So back home again to take it all apart. I think I would have rather gone country dancing, lol :) GGG

I bake in the wee hours. Getting ready to bake a cake in a bit. Having a Halloween party on Thursday. I always freeze my cake before for easier icing. I'll probably bake something else too. So nice to have a large oven. Maybe a bundt cake or muffins. Mini rant: Of course if it's a warm day the icing will be difficult anyway thanks to stupid California legislatures who banned trans fats in the shortening. So I have to work with unstable trans fat free shortening and my cake will taste less like the usual. All the traditional "buttercream" decorators are tearing their hair out around these parts. I can't buy my base until the last minute since it is not heat stable and my house has no ac. Planning to try a new recipe but it includes butter so still won't help with the issue of weeping and crusting. Thanks nanny state. Maybe I should just do cookies. My black marketed silver dragees just got here. :-D Seriously. No one would ship them, out of fear. I finally found a source but her supply is almost gone. LOL I went and snagged the last 2 bags. Hoping to cross state lines soon to get my shortening before it's banned in all fifty states. ;-)

Hi Walnutcreek. What's wrong with your family that they don't like pineapple?? :-) I'll post a link to the recipe, *but I cut it in half*. It makes a huge dessert, otherwise. I'll post my measurements. Of course, mine doesn't look as pretty as the one in the site, but it sure tastes good! Banana Split Dessert 1 1/2 cups graham crumbs 6 tbsp butter or margarine, melted 1 pkg cream cheese, softened 1/2 cup sugar 14 oz can crushed pineapple, well drained 2 bananas (the recipe calls for 6) 1 cup milk 1 pkg (4 svg size) vanilla instant pudding 1 cup thawed Cool Whip (I usually use more) 1 cup chopped pecans (I don't use) Mix crumbs and melted butter and press into a 9x9 or 7x11 pan. Freeze 10 minutes. Beat cream cheese and sugar until well blended. Spread over crust, top with drained pineapple. Slice 1 or 2 bananas and arrange over pineapple. Pour milk into a large bowl. Add vanilla mix and beat with a whisk 2 minutes or until well blended and thickened. Gently stir in 1/2 cup (or more) whipped topping; spread over bananas. Top with remaining whipped topping. Refrigerate at least 5 hours. Slice remaining banana just before serving and arranged over top; sprinkle with chopped nuts. (I don't bother with the banana or the nuts) Banana Split Dessert
