Mine LOVE cooked asparagus. Love it. And corn on the cob. And one adores cantaloupe, too.

Our indoor boys (AKA the spoiled ones) eat only cat food, and one of them will eat only one particular kind of Royal Canin hard food, no substitutions. HE IS A BRAT. The outside cats will eat anything that I put out, including veggies, fruit and dry bread.

One of our now deceased kitties loved watermelon, green beans and peaches.

One kitty who passed at age 23 loved cooked broccoli, bananas and Fritos.

The three we have now like wheat grass, but not other veggies.

Yes, our most recent rescue loves kale. And all of them love houseplants. :o)

Our cat adored left over green beans. They had some butter on them, but she liked them so much that she would growl as she ate them, as if to warn us to stay away from her goodies. She also did that with left over cornbread. Strange cat!

I can't say I've given any of mine cabbage or kale, but our almost-20-year old cat loves pretty much any kind of vegetables or fruit. She LOVES citrus fruit (so much for the theory that using citrus will deter cats from things you don't want them near). She's especially fond of anything with tomatoes in it--pizza, stewed tomatoes, soups, casseroles, etc--and will beg very politely but insistantly if we're eating anything like that.

Any, er, 'aromas' later?

This morning I made myself a turkey and cheese sandwaich. Molly the dog was eyeing me with big brown sad eyes. I gave her the last couple of bites. She politely spit out the lettuce. She eats almost anyting I eat, including carrots, peanut butter, and cheese doodles.

Mango loves to lick my plate. She really likes tomato sauce and things that are spicy hot. Crazy cat. She and Peggy Sue like to lick my oatmeal dish. Gidget has no interest in people food. My dog, Lila, stands beside when I am making coffee. She hopes I will drop a coffee bean or two as I put them in the grinder. The caffeine does not seem to effect her.

Izzi likes black raspberries, but not fond of strawberries.

I once had a dog that would eat raw pasta of any kind. If I dropped some on the floor and she was around it was gone before I could make a grab for it. She also liked corn on the cob and when I found out that was what was making her itch in the summer time and I stopped giving it to her she would go out to the garden and get her own. I would find the corn stock and cob on the back yard.
I also had a cat that loved cantalope and olives. I couldn't leave either of them out on the counter or she would be up eating them.
Gotta love our fur babies and their strange ways and taste.

Our late yellow lab would eat anything (unless too spicy hot) that we left on our plate and gave her. But if we put it in her dish, she would turn up her nose at most of it! lol

Two of my cats don't care at all for human food, except one really likes seitan for some reason, lol.

My other cat is really into bread. I have to hide fresh bread in a cupboard or he will tear through the wrappers and start feasting on it. He begs for scraps if I'm eating pizza or anything remotely relating to bread.

Seitan, Chi83? I guess we can assume the cat isn't gluten-intolerant. :-)

Happy to read these responses--thanks! Now I don't have to worry about Peachy. I suppose this satisfies the indoor cat's need for greens. I haven't noticed any odor......yet. ;-)

Our Westie only eats greens when he needs to throw up something icky that he ate 12 hours earlier. Three a.m.? Time to barf on the bedroom rug. He loves the last out of our cereal bowls, especially if we've had oatmeal or granola. I can depend on him to hang around if I'm cooking lamb. He'll wait for the last bite of an apple...or almost anything we are eating. He will not eat a grape, which I think is a good thing.

I remember giving our first Westie the last of some butter pecan ice cream. When I looked down, I had a dish of perfectly clean pecans.

Yep, seitan. :) I enjoy it in a sandwich and a little piece dropped on the floor and he went nuts for it. I don't give them much human food, at least grain-based, cause I don't think it's good for them but as long as it's vegetables I wouldn't worry about it. Just don't let him get into any onions or garlic! Or chocolate. Man, I'm sure glad I'm not a cat.

mine are picky..the other day gave one kitty a piece of chicken from noodle soup and she wouldn't eat it! makes you wonder why!

My dogs will eat anything , and I let them lick plates at night. I always save veggies, sweet potatoes, and little bit of salmon. Cats are way more finicky, but Phoebe loves icecream and sits and waits to lick the dish.

A previous cat liked zucchini, and the current one likes to share crackers with DH :-)
