Just finished decorating the Christmas tree with my nephews. Hadn't seen them in 6 one half years... darn it, can not find some of the keys on this keyboard...

Anyway, heading back to my sisters tomorrow. So far, it has been GREAT. Even got snow. LOL
Hoping all my KT friends are doing fine... and see you soon.

Terribly cold. But the brugs in the basement are blooming like crazy, even though their leaves are turning yellow. By the way, I don't think that these are any "special" brugs. They are all yellow singles. All the same. I was really surprised to learn that my friend here is planning to cut the brugs (when?? don't know) and then she will stand the sticks in a bucket with a few inches of water. Imagine, she does not change the water all winter!!!!She says that in the springtime, there is always an abundance of roots, ready to be planted, or given away. In other words, what I'm saying is that these brugs don't receive the tender loving care that "we" give ours, and I have read about overwintering of brugs, on this forum, and learned a lot. Sorry, folks, there won't be any pictures of local plants. Everything is covered with a blanket of snow. Also, my camera is my cellphone which I can't use or charge here. Lucy, Oktoberfest is during the last two weeks of September because the weather usually is warmer then. So, I missed that. But I'll still drink some Munich beer to your health! Any More than 10 Gallons of poting soil,is very Havy to move around. The 5 to 10 Gallon buried 4 inches ingrownd with draining holes,on side close to bottom so roots will grow in grownd every year,is a much better choice in the long run. On the other hand the half barrel do not have to necesary be full of potting soil,just so much as you can handle yourself. So yes you can use half Barrel to plant in. And you can bury it 4 inches inground too. The fruit will be much tastier if fig,can feed from the sorrounding soil+ it will not depend on you for regular watering and nutrients. Hi Everyone, sorry I took so long to check back in here. At the end of last week, having a case of cabin fever, I thought I was feeling pretty good to go to the store, with DH driving. Bad idea...when I got home I was hurting, went straight to bed, around 7 PM, and didn't get up until 11 AM the next day!! DH said he kept coming in to check on me and was thinking about putting a mirror under my nose, just to check (he's a kidder). Well, I'm still kicking, however, whenever I'm on my feet too long, I feel just awful and need to rest. If you're wondering what kind of surgery ... Seems what I thought was my usual Kidney/Bladder Infection (history of em) this time, was blockage in my kidney. The blockage was removed and then a stent was inserted from my kidney to my bladder. This new 'do dad' will be with me for a month. along with lots of pressure, burning, fatique, and running to the john every 15 mins. (and being told to drink A GALLON of water ea day) >>> I'm not such a 'Happy Camper' :@ However, I AM looking forward to feeling better soon (I hope)..because BEFORE all of this fun stuff took place... DH and I made plans to go to Cape Cod, for a few days, and bring my oldest Gson. I'm so excited to bring him. That's in about another week and a half...so I've got to Toughen Up and get on with the program!! :) Thanks to ALL who offered kind regards. jay..thank you :) btw... I'm enjoying those bowls immensely!! Lynn...Glad all went well with your son. You must be so proud of him. As hard as it was for you and your family, I'm sure your support, and respect of his decision to go, is so important to him. betty..you are sooo right about God giving us Children when we were young.. And as far as our Gkids...when we are at our Weakest..they are at their Strongest!! kathleen..thank you for thinking of me and for extending 'Good Thoughts' my way. Yes...I'm exhausted. I guess my body's not that 'spry' thing that it used to be... Geeeezzzee Thank you Luvs...I'm making my way back..slowly but surely. I'm glad it worked out to have the surgery AFTER my Gkids were here...whew!! Mo..thanks for the speedy recovery wishes. I hope you are doing well and are on a 'Quick Mend'. Don't over do it..like me. Still at my brothers. Had some Gluewein, spent time at the Christmas Market, bought the boys each a special Christmastree ornament. Will take the train back to Darmstadt later.
