I thought the whole show just rocked...I had the good sense to set the TIVO up Saturday night cause I was working Sunday...I got home right as Bruce Springsteen was singing and just listened and played on the puter while coming back down to earth...I'm so glad I tivo'd it cause I've watched it on and off tonight...Hubster doesn't watch shows like this but he enjoyed seeing the Beach Boys, Tony Bennett, and Glen Campbell perform...It was very tasteful as far as Whitney goes...I know it had to be really hard for Jennifer to sing that song...it sure made my eyes well up... I think Adele is the bomb...I've been humming her song all day...I hope she has a long and wonderful career! I loved the Target commercial that came on with the little girl on the bus singing her song and all the other kids joined in!

Many, many, many! One that I love that I don't hear very often is the Candlelight Carol (by John Rutter). It is beautiful. We used to sing it in choir. Verse 1: How do you capture the wind on the water? How do you count all the stars in the sky? How can you measure the love of a mother, or how can you write down a baby's first cry? REFRAIN: Candlelight, angel light, firelight and starglow shine on his cradle till breaking of dawn. Gloria, Gloria in excelsis deo! Angels are singing; the Christ Child is born. Verse 2. (REFRAIN) I also love Mary Did You Know. And all the traditional songs like Silent Night, O Little Town of Bethlehem, Hark the Harold Angels Sing, Joy to the World... all the songs you sing in Church. Plus a lot of the fun ones, Up on the Rooftop, All I want for Christmas is my Two Front Teeth, I saw Mama kissing Santa Claus, and so on and so on. I love Christmas music, particularly the traditional versions.

No children but my mother sang to us and encouraged us to sing-to keep us occupied. We would be put to bed at night early and allowed to pass the time singing and telling stories. We sang all the time and never rode anywhere in the car without singing songs. some pretty ballads and some just long and silly. As a family we had good voices. I grew up singing and continued to sing ballads and with a couple of friends we sang at weddings. It was fun. My voice is pretty much gone but it is nice memories-because my crazy mother had us sing.
