It's 4:24 a.m., and I'm sitting here . . .

. . . waiting for my dog to bark to come back in the house. She barked to let me know she wanted to go out, waking me up.

Actually, she may have barked for some other reason entirely. Or no reason. Angel is 15.5 years old, and has what the vet cheerfully calls "doggie Alzheimer's." She's not suffering, but I guess you could say I am. She barks at all hours of the night. Last night she started at 11:30, right after I'd gone to bed. I came downstairs and patted her, and she stopped. Until now. Sometimes I'm up with her at 2:00 a.m., 3:00 a.m., or any hour or hours, several times a night.

Fortunately, my new job has evening hours. But still, this is making a wreck of my sleep. I'll go back to bed in a few minutes, but sometimes it takes a long time to go back to sleep. And sometimes that doesn't happen.

Well, enough whining for now. Angel is now barking to come back in. But if anyone has a solution for me, or a helpful hint, or whatever, please let me know.

Susan
