Older Messages

Beneath each day's 30 posts there are older posts that can be read, going back to July, 2012. How can I access the messages posted before last July? I find the posts and discussions to be very interesting, and I would like to read old posts previous to July.

GardenWeb does not archive. Once they drop off - they are pretty much gone.

Sometimes you can find something via google, but sometimes that also leads to a blank page.

I think if someone has "clipped" a post - it is then archived.

Maybe if you ask on here for the subject that you're seeking, someone may have saved it, whether archived or not.

I often copy stuff and take it home ... but it would be a bit of a job to retype it, though in some situations folk might be able to scan it.

We have the krbs pan, but opted for corian rather than the acrylic. It has only been installed a year but so far no issues. I think the adhesives they use will last as long as the material itself. It looks fantastic - not like a shower base at all but like a floor. I don't have any great pics but here is one before the tile was grouted and base was cleaned up: and here is a partial after the shower was done: I bought the corian bench top and niche shelf from them too, it was only like $60 - a fraction of the cost of stone.

I've been looking for info on these as well since I would like to have a DW with a built-in water softener. Attractive price point at just under $700 for one w/ softener in black or white and stainless a bit over $800.

You probably don't have your folders "pinned" open - that is why you are not seeing the left pane. On the bar that is below the tool bar and the boxes that say "create mail, send/recv, etc., it will say OutLook Express or Inbox - depending on what part of OE you are in. Click on the down pointing triangle to open up the pane - click on the push pin to pin it open if you want. Follow the directions you have. You will be deleting your inbox, so make sure you have moved them to the temp folder before you do this, or you won't have them anymore. The instructions are not very clear on how to create a Temp Folder. When you have the folders pane open - just right click and it will give you a drop down with "New Folder" option. That is how to make the new folder - you can name it whatever you want. Do you let OE compact the files when it prompts you? Don't let your inbox get too full, and compact when it prompts you too. Hopefully your inbox won't get corrupted again. HTH

Sonoma tile Crackle ?

I'd never heard of lippage till I came to GW. I Googled it and found this at the Lacrete site: According to ANSI A108.02 4.3.7, Lippage refers to differences in elevation between edges of adjacent tile modules. These differences or perception thereof are influenced by many factors such as; The allowable thickness variation of the tile modules when judged in accordance with manufacturing standards. The allowable warpage of the tile or stone modules. The spacing or separation of each tile module, which would influence a gradual or abrupt change in elevation. Angle of natural or manufactured light accentuating otherwise acceptable variance in modules. Highly reflective surfaces of tile or stone modules accentuating otherwise acceptable variance in the modules. The Tile Council of North America (TCNA) states âÂÂLippage is a condition where one edge of a tile is higher than an adjacent tile, giving the finished surface an uneven appearance. This condition is inherent in all installation methods and may also be unavoidable due to tile tolerances, in accordance with ANSI A137.1.â You can't see it just looking at my backsplash, or when I have my hood lights on, as they are at the front of my hood. My UCLs are way in the back, basically flush with the tile. The light shines down and any irregularity will cast a tiny shadow. So my reason is #4 (above). I think if I move my lights forward it would help, but it would cause a domino effect of other considerations, so I'm living with the lippage. :) I would think that an aware and good tilesetter could minimize this tile's lippage tendencies.

Just post what you are looking for an someone might have it or the orignal poster can help. I have a bunch of old stuff at the KTGP, it could be saved there too.

I thought they posted a while back that the older posts *are* still available now but you essentially need to search for it and find it, then you can access it and post to it. But maybe it was a just a dream.

Try searching and asking. You might get some help. And might get different opinions than originally posted too. Sometimes there's updated info that can be of use to you.

I think the OP is asking how to retrieve older messages, because of the interesting topics and general good time we have here.

He won't know what to search for, in that case. Since there is no archive held anywhere, he won't be able to read past pages.

Hi shefsf,

I have two KT things bookmarked. The first in the link below has 14 links to various older funny threads.

The second on I have is also on the Funny thread keeper. It is called dogs in elk & is one of the most hilarious things I've ever read. It's old, from Sept '99, & was posted by a woman whose husband brought back an elk carcass from hunting. It's at: Dogs in elk, http://www.webtree.ca/tree/keeper/dogs_in_elk.htm

There is also the Wayback Machine or just type Gardenweb Forums Kitchen Table into Google and that will also bring up some older posts.
