It'll function like any other DW. Hot water will slosh around with soap for around 2 hours and clean your dishes. You prob. meant to ask about reliability, yes? Tough to say, they have not been in the U.S. market very long. Don't have many retail outlets or a large service network. I believe that unit is in the $600 price range and that's a bargain from a euro co. I'd consider it disposable and anything after 5 years is gravy.

"This product looks good and washes well." and she has bought 4 or 5 of them, (if you check the reviews)! Here's "Consumer Reports Take" on the Blombergs. "Some Blomberg dishwashers we tested more than a year ago were nothing to write home about: unimpressive washing and more noise than we usually measure. But the companyâÂÂs claims of sprucing up its line seems to be showing results. The Blomberg DWT55300SS, a recommended model at $850, and the Blomberg DWT54100SS, $750, ranked among the best in our recent tests with top-notch washing and efficient running. WhatâÂÂs more, the normal cycle of the Blomberg DWT54100SS ran only 85 minutes, short for high performers. While neither was especially quiet��"the Achilles heel even for some better performers��"the manufacturer says itâÂÂs working on it. So I guess the message here is to be sure to check reviews for the actual model you are contemplating buying, (be sure it is one of the newer models) Oh Yes, and "WATCH OUT for "Liz", (LOL)! Gary

Blomberg is a brand owned by a conglomerate in Turkey. Yale Appliance has some background discussion. You can call them with specific questions. Read the comments. Here's one on the dishwasher. It is one month old and we have already had the service guy out once. It just doesn't clean and I had to unload and hand wash glasses and cutlery again this morning after the cleaning last night. We have had dishwashers before, so I know how to run a dishwasher (keep filter clean, use right detergent, run hot water first, use rinse agent, etc). And my comment comes in comparing other dishwashers we have had to this one. Pots and pans are impossible - we are now hand washing them all the time, regardless of what was in them. But today's glasses and cutlery (again!) took the cake which is why I am writing this review. I definitely would NOT recommend this dishwasher!!

This is Consumer Reports summary of the similar Blomberg DWT59500SS which earned a score of 50 out of a maximum of 100 (best score was 88): "This model, manufactured under the Blomberg brand name by the Turkish company Arcelik, is not strong performer. It delivers below-average performance for washing and one of the poorest drying jobs of any model CR has tested. And at 140 minutes, its normal wash cycle runs longer than much of the competition. It is, however, among the quietest models we've tested."
