Can't receive email

Outlook Express with Windows XP Pro. Error code 0x800C0133. Google that code and find the link posted below.

Do not understand "left pane". "Local Folders" shows up under "View", "Go To Folder". Right clicking on the "Local Folder". there does nothing at all. I deleted a couple of months worth of the older messages with no improvement, rebooted 3 times, no improvement. Have about 30gig of empty hard drive (C) space.

Your help will be appreciated.

You probably don't have your folders "pinned" open - that is why you are not seeing the left pane.

On the bar that is below the tool bar and the boxes that say "create mail, send/recv, etc., it will say OutLook Express or Inbox - depending on what part of OE you are in. Click on the down pointing triangle to open up the pane - click on the push pin to pin it open if you want.

Follow the directions you have. You will be deleting your inbox, so make sure you have moved them to the temp folder before you do this, or you won't have them anymore.

The instructions are not very clear on how to create a Temp Folder. When you have the folders pane open - just right click and it will give you a drop down with "New Folder" option. That is how to make the new folder - you can name it whatever you want.
Do you let OE compact the files when it prompts you? Don't let your inbox get too full, and compact when it prompts you too. Hopefully your inbox won't get corrupted again.

I have the toolbar with Create Mail, Reply, Reply All, Forward, etc. Below that is the exclamation point, paperclip and the icon that sorts the messages. Then the column headings, From, Subject, Received. That is all that is displayed. Thanks for trying to help me.

I contacted GW at the address above on the day the link was sent to me. STILL I can't change my email. I have contacted them again today so hopefully I will have a correct email soon. Thank you to anyone for being patient if you are trying to contact me.

Is the attachment too large? I think the ultimate limit is supposed to be 10MB, but if the recipient is on dial up, that would be one long download! Hotmail notoriously fails to deliver many attachments. Maybe try sending to an alternate email address. Gmail is free and more reliable IMO. Pam

Busdriver open Outlook Express, click View, click Layout....

In the new window you can select what shows on your screen. For example I have boxes 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6 only checked. Also be sure to remove the check mark in 'Show preview pane'. Click Apply and OK if you make changes.

You might find compacting will help. Click File, click Folder, click Compact all folders. Before trying that you should right click on the Deleted items folder in the left side and click to Empty Deleted Items folder.
