It's 34 degrees right now, supposed to get down to 31 tonight.

Tomorrow, they're saying maybe some snowfall in places, mainly south of Seattle. I doubt it though.

I know it wont be as bad, but DARN, I was just outside and everything is just starting to look good. Ann, you know things have developed slowly this year, and that was good because we didn't need a repeat of last year. So to loose it now would be doubly bad. It's not just the roses, although to lose the buds on my once blooming monster QE would be bad, but the hydrangeas and my poor Japanese maples that almost lost half their growth last year from frost damage. And my one crepe myrtle that got badly zapped last year and is now 3 feet shorter than the ones near it and is all budded out already. I did read in Horticulture Mag that last year was a perfect storm. Warmer than normal Winter and March seduced everything to grow earlier than normal. Then ZAP 3-4 days and nights of freezing temps. Good thing is it is going to be wet, so that should help. And I have bags of shredded leaves that I can put on somethings like my hydrangeas and at least protect the lower growth. And it's not going to be as cold during the day (supposedly) so maybe that will make a difference.

For two days, especially today, it was very overcast here. A little while ago, I saw an orange 'patch' on the wall and realized the sun was finally shining in a little peephole in the sky at the same time as it's setting. It's beautiful but I got ticked as that will now make it colder tonight. Now I hear that we're under a winter weather alert......from noon Mon to noon Tues, with same 4/6 inches total, same as Nancy. I'm in Ohio. Please, please, winter bad weather, STOP!!!! I'm hollering 'Uncle'. Shirley

I have heard from Macmex and they are fine and had minimal damage. Still wondering about Mulberryknob. The only thing this has to do with gardening is the fact that it involves seeds, but it was kind of funny. A few years ago George shared some hot pepper seeds with me and I plant them almost every year because Al likes for me to dry them and grind them into flakes and he sprinkles them on his food but a bottle will last him a long time. Last year in late Fall I picked several branches of these little bright red peppers and just stuck them in a glass to dry. Al still had pepper flakes so I just never got around to grinding that bunch and thought I would probably just keep them for seeds. This weekend George sent me a message and asked me if I had some of those pepper seeds because his didn't germinate this year. I didn't see the msg until yesterday, but as soon as I saw it, I cut the stems off of some peppers and stuck them down in a little plastic jewelry size bag, and put that bag inside a bubble wrap type mailer and took it to the post office. It was super light, and the envelope probably weighed more than the contents but it puffed up a little because the seeds were whole and the plastic bag probably had a little air in it. I had to wait in line for awhile, and when I gave the lady the package to weigh, she said, "That will be $2.45." I gave her a questioning look and said, "Really?" She said, "If you can make it thinner, it won't cost as much". Without a pause, I made a fist, reached across the counter to the envelope and gave it three quick hits with the side of my folded fist. She pulled back a little and gave a little giggle, and said, "That will be 94 cents". The woman at the counter beside me laughed and said, "That would make a good commercial". It was not my intent to entertain the Post Office patrons, but it seems I did. George said he received the package today, but I didn't ask him if the pods remained in the plastic bag, or if I blew them all out into the inside of the mailing envelope. I have now been educated by USPS and realize that although you are light weight, it will still cost more if you look fat. LOL

It was a dark and stormy night and our weather radio went off for at least 4 hours nonstop as tornadic circulations danced through the skies near us, but not many made it to the ground. A tornado touched down near Ringling in the county adjacent to us and headed towards Wilson, Healdton and Lone Grove. After spotters confirmed power flashes and a tornado on the ground near Ringling, they got a Particularly Dangerous Situation Tornado Warning and that got everyone in our county stirred up. And, that was the way it should been because all those communities at risk are right along the Carter-Love county line, so folks living near there should have been watching and even heading for shelter. We had spotters out, lots of traffic on our GroupMe app and radios, etc. but all we got out of this was hail, rain and wind as far as I know. Our final tornado warning, for the one seemingly headed towards us, was abruptly cancelled when that supercell abruptly jumped the river and headed away from us. Then we got pounded by a severe thunderstorm that dropped 1.25" of rain (more than we'd had the whole month of May so far) and, in some parts of our neighhborhood but not here, hail. I was more worried about hail than tornadoes because I have some huge onions bulbed up above ground but not yet developing soft necks. I had to resist the urge around midnight to run yank them out of the ground for their own good as big hail approached parts of our county. I found no damage in the garden except for 1 onion with a snapped neck (it wasn't at the soft neck stage so the wind merely broke its neck early), a rain gauge blown over and lying on the ground and another rain gauge totally missing. Ok, I'm out for the day. Y'all have a good time and let's be thankful that the wicked weather seemingly did little damage and missed most all of us. I hope the folks who haven't checked in are okay. I haven't watched the news yet to hear how folks outside of OK fared. I hope the damage across the country isn't as bad as they feared it would be. From watching TWC last night, I suspect there is a lot of wind damage in some areas across the country.

It's cold here in Northern IL. No snow yet thankfully...hate snow. But I am on vacation and don't have to leave the house.

67 at midnight, bit chilly for us and we closed up the house earlier. close to 80 today and low 80's thru thurs. which is normal. this is good weather for us, i don't know why i thought the weather would be o.k. in atlanta next week for a trip but i will not be going north of orlando after nov ever again LOL except for NYC or chicago for christmas. we are going to freeze to death w/ our FL clothes :-/ ~ liz

We're scheduled to get precipitation on Wednesday. It'll be cold enough that it could be snow. The deer-gun season has opened and our hunters want enough snow for tracking, but not enough to stop a car. Up to now, most of the deer kills in Waukesha Co. has been on the fronts of vehicles. Vehicle-deer collisions peak during the ruting season (Oct-Nov). The local body shops have a backlog. One shop was working on 7 vehicles, and 5 were deer hits.

I nearly hit a deer Sunday night. I smoked my brakes and the deer passed just in time. The manuver excited my passengers.

Lows in the 20's, Highs in the 30's for a day or two. Went to bed last night at 10:30, no snow. Woke up at 12:30 and a bit of snow. Now at 3am.... a few inches and more is falling. Winter storm here through Monday. Then clearing. Snow will probably be gone by Thanksgiving. That is what I love about this area. We get snow. Enjoy it, lasts a few days then gone. Longest we have had now stick around is a month but usually a week or so then gone till next storm.

Sunday morning here and the temperature is around 47 with a high today of 60. Not too bad for almost Thanksgiving.

Horrible here in Minnesota (and Wisconsin from what I'm hearing). Over 300 accidents in the Mpls/St Paul area over night, roads are glare ice. We are staying put until it gets above freezing.
My sis and BIL came home from FL yesterday, or started. They drive straight through, but when they got to Menominee last night, the freeway was shut down.

Posting from northern Manitoba, near Santa's cottage. Yep, looking and feeling a lot like Christmas. Love it. Air is crisp and cool, temps minus 14 Celsius, about a foot of snow on the ground. At night the lights are beautiful glistening in the dark. Anybody ready for a sleigh ride?

It's 76 here at noon. Supposed to be 82 for a high. I think when it gets around 80 I will go outside and site under the gazebo.

63 and going up to 73 on Tuesday. It's sunny and beautiful today. Wish I had time to play some golf. It was just cool enough this morning to take a nice crisp walk. I love this weather!

Beautiful day here today, its about 78ÃÂº now. Warm tropical breeze at about 6 mph gusting to 10. It has drizzled a little over night and this morning. That is good because we're deep into drought and wildfire conditions and the water table is less than half the normal range.

Awesome nice for November. Currently have a window open in each room, where it can be opened (some are painted shut).

Well, woke up to 3 inches of snow. Looks like a little more is coming. The sun came out for a while today and melted off the streets and sidewalks on our side of the street. I love living on this side, hardly ever have to shovel.

Snow through Tuesday, but then it will be gone before Thursday. But COLD! High today is 32 and low 28. For TG day the high is 28.....

Got a great fire going. Cozy in here, but hate taking the dog out when he has to go..... tee hee

We did manage to get some snow this morning and it's still snowing lightly at 36 degrees.

Weather reports says tomorrow night we'll "...really dive into the ice box with lows that will drop into the teens to low 20s."

I'm staying by the wood stove. :)

I love snow! I honestly don't get why everyone hates it..... I think it's a shame. I love every season, especially the snow.

I don't know the temps today, but it is between cool and cold. :-) Tomorrow is going to nice, around 13 celsius and sunny. Coolish. Sweater weather.

We haven't had any snow yet (touch wood)

I don't mind this weather at all. However, come mid January/February I have had enough especially if it has been a harsh winter!

I don't hate snow but it can make for treacherous, white knuckle driving conditions. Once you've been in a 200 car pile up on one of the busiest highways in North America because of icy roads, and live to tell about it, you tend to appreciate the other 3 seasons even more.

I don't even mind driving in bad weather, I just don't like the other cars sliding towards me! Nerve wracking.
