Checking Your Weather This Sunday Morning!

It is chilly again here in central Indiana. Temperature is 8 above this morning. We might get a tiny bit of snow this afternoon. In this area we are not expecting very much. How is your weather this day where you are?

It's 35 degrees in OKC, tiny snowflakes blowing around with the artic air front. 58 degrees yesterday.

The sun is shining but still around 33 degrees this morning. It is pretty with all the frost over everything and it is now melting off. My rose bushes were covered with it too. This week is pruning week! Hope freezing weather is almost over because once I prune the roses will start having tender new growth and buds are not too far away!!!

Hi Carol, Well, I was more or less speaking for at least the southern half of the state, but I really do think the whole state should be OK. (Not that "my" forecast comes with a money-back guarantee or anything.) LOL The way the weather has been this year, we're all kinda gun-shy about planting even still. I came inside for lunch because we're getting some rain sprinkles. I've been planting some figleaf hollyhocks and Laura Bush petunias in the mixed border by my front and side porch, and some elephant ears as well. This afternoon, if the rain sprinkles allow, it is back to the garden to plant peppers. I hope to get corn, squash, pumpkins and beans in the ground in the next couple of days, and after that, then I'll do my really warm season crops (okra, melons, black-eyed peas, and sweet potatoes) either late this week or early next week. This has got to be the latest I've ever finished planting. Even last year, I had stuff in the ground so that the heavy rains could drown it and kill it. This year, I can't even get it all in the ground. Kirts, I'm going to start my squash and pumpkins inside in paper cups today and transplant them outside in a few days just as soon as their little heads pop up out of the soil, assuming it is raining or snowing or something. This definitely has not been a year where a gardener could plant early (or even on time!) and have much success. And, y'all, while I was typing this, the sprinkles turned into a full-fledged rain shower, so my day in the garden may have ended earlier than I'd hoped. Northern Delaware is knee deep in snow, not that I'm going out in it....son just called he will be over to plow tomorrow, its snowing and blowing so hard it would just blow back today. He did his own drive since he's to go plow at the park (25 mins. away on a good day) where he works but it's in the hilly section of DE and the roads there aren't plowed yet. Daughter in Cape May County NJ lost her power at 6:30 this morning, she's gathering up her birds, all 7 of them, into smaller cages and moving them to second floor where it's warmer...wrapped up the goldfish tank, being a carp hoping he makes it she's had him for years....will be warming water to add to his tank, GAS STOVE thank goodness. Cats can huddle but hers are more likely to have battles. Brother and his wife live on a barrier island 20 minutes away from her, lost power there at 9:30AM. Just called them to run the water in my house in hopes of keeping the pipes from freezing, only keep the heater set at 55 since I'm not there, so it's not warm at all and there is only a crawl space under it. The weather has been very hard on southern costal NJ, two storms with tidal flooding in the fall then the December and January snow storms now this one. Sue

I live in the Dallas area. It's sunny right now and the high is supposed to be in the mid 60's. It's in the mid 50's right now. Sunday it is supposed to hit 70. The Bradford Pear trees are all covered in white flowers and the other trees are starting to bud, some of the early ones have leafs. And of course, the weeds are growing, too.

It was a dark and stormy night and our weather radio went off for at least 4 hours nonstop as tornadic circulations danced through the skies near us, but not many made it to the ground. A tornado touched down near Ringling in the county adjacent to us and headed towards Wilson, Healdton and Lone Grove. After spotters confirmed power flashes and a tornado on the ground near Ringling, they got a Particularly Dangerous Situation Tornado Warning and that got everyone in our county stirred up. And, that was the way it should been because all those communities at risk are right along the Carter-Love county line, so folks living near there should have been watching and even heading for shelter. We had spotters out, lots of traffic on our GroupMe app and radios, etc. but all we got out of this was hail, rain and wind as far as I know. Our final tornado warning, for the one seemingly headed towards us, was abruptly cancelled when that supercell abruptly jumped the river and headed away from us. Then we got pounded by a severe thunderstorm that dropped 1.25" of rain (more than we'd had the whole month of May so far) and, in some parts of our neighhborhood but not here, hail. I was more worried about hail than tornadoes because I have some huge onions bulbed up above ground but not yet developing soft necks. I had to resist the urge around midnight to run yank them out of the ground for their own good as big hail approached parts of our county. I found no damage in the garden except for 1 onion with a snapped neck (it wasn't at the soft neck stage so the wind merely broke its neck early), a rain gauge blown over and lying on the ground and another rain gauge totally missing. Ok, I'm out for the day. Y'all have a good time and let's be thankful that the wicked weather seemingly did little damage and missed most all of us. I hope the folks who haven't checked in are okay. I haven't watched the news yet to hear how folks outside of OK fared. I hope the damage across the country isn't as bad as they feared it would be. From watching TWC last night, I suspect there is a lot of wind damage in some areas across the country.

Well, after having a gorgeous day with 58 degrees yesterday (which I took advantage of and went for a bike ride) we are getting covered again with a nice white blanket.

LOL, yep, it is snowing again.

North Central West Virginia:

Cloudy with temperatures steady near the mid 20s. Winds SW at 10 to 15 mph. Precip: 20%-70% by tomorrow morning.

A TOTAL OF 6 TO 8 INCHES OF SNOW (plus the 12 or so we already have!) IS POSSIBLE BY TUESDAY MORNING.

It's in the mid 20s here in my part of Ohio. But the skies are so overcast, it looks as if I could almost reach up and grab a handful of it. We had flurries off/on all night, but only a little bit of it stuck on my car.

It's 18 degrees BUT the wind is blowing very hard to the south and we can barely see outside for all the blowing snow. The real feel is minus 2. This has been pretty common this year, I'm so ready for spring.

Supposed to hit 66 here today, and it's sunny:-) There was a dense fog advisory, but it missed us and I'm very glad!

High expected of 67, partly crowded. Very sunny right now, 11 AM. You can check out our local weather today watching the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am golf tournament on TV this afternoon. The ocean setting is spectacular.

I have 2 back doors, one from my kitchen, the other from my garage. I still can't get out either one.

It's dreary under a very gray sky. Temp is 32 degrees. We're supposed to get some snow, under a winter storm watch for about 4/6 inches.

For two days, especially today, it was very overcast here. A little while ago, I saw an orange 'patch' on the wall and realized the sun was finally shining in a little peephole in the sky at the same time as it's setting. It's beautiful but I got ticked as that will now make it colder tonight. Now I hear that we're under a winter weather alert......from noon Mon to noon Tues, with same 4/6 inches total, same as Nancy. I'm in Ohio. Please, please, winter bad weather, STOP!!!! I'm hollering 'Uncle'.
