How Is Your Weather This Morning?

It snowed sometime in the night, just barely though. It is cold around 29 or so out. At least it isn't windy. I am getting ready to go to church and stay for the church dinner. What are your plans for today and how is your weather?

From SSW at 8mph
Through 1pm: Sunny with increasing winds. Temperatures warming rapidly into the mid to upper 60s. Winds W at 15 to 20 mph.

I will ride my bike to work after a while. Plan to drive to see my daughter this afternoon, after I get back home. Nothing else planned... but I am always open to diversions.

Yep it is cold here this morning, it was beautiful yesterday. There are some flurries out there but at least the wind stopped. I shouldn't complain about the wind with all of those in Indiana, KY and TN and the suffering there.

Daily weather has been strange - somewhat mild winter, lots of wind, then hot February and March with more wind and a couple of hard freezes in late April. That double whammy hurt the majority of the fruit trees and a large number of shade trees. The trees looks so strange as they struggle to rebud and leaf out. We are continuing in a severe drought so everything except the weeds are almost nonexistent. There are so many trees, some 50 years and older, that have not survived. It's sad for trees to die off, especially ones of that age and size. We can't just stick them in the ground and they grow as they do in many areas, we have to baby them for several years to get them established. I did have DH plow up the garden area. I have tomatoes and peppers in the greenhouse that need to be planted, but I'm not sure that things will do much at all, even with extensive watering - darn it. Probably should have just started greenhouse varieties, but that's no fun. The Sweet Autumn Clematis and the Malva Zebrina are the only two plants that are doing well outside. But - and yes I am going to shout - WE HAVE SOME CHANCE OF SHOWERS FOR THE NEXT 7 DAYS! Send your good thoughts and prayers this way, please. Everyone can post pictures of yards and anything else that is growing nicely and I will live vicariously through them...LOL. While I may complain about the drought, my thoughts and prayers are with the people of Oklahoma. It is almost beyond comprehension that deadly storms hit the same area two days in a row and then hit on another day just a few miles from them. Unexplainable.

Good Morning! It's 45 up here at the lake! I didn't expect to see that when I looked at the thermometer just now! The weather guesser is sounding like we might avoid that foot of snow that they were talking about yesterday!!! I hope so! I don't want to have to drive in it tomorrow! I think that we are going to run to go poke around at the Goodwill store later. I need a pan that I can use to make my laundry soap!

For two days, especially today, it was very overcast here. A little while ago, I saw an orange 'patch' on the wall and realized the sun was finally shining in a little peephole in the sky at the same time as it's setting. It's beautiful but I got ticked as that will now make it colder tonight. Now I hear that we're under a winter weather alert......from noon Mon to noon Tues, with same 4/6 inches total, same as Nancy. I'm in Ohio. Please, please, winter bad weather, STOP!!!! I'm hollering 'Uncle'. Shirley

Gadgets--I feel for you--I detest that waiting at the dealership while they fiddle around. Hope you had a good book or some sewing to help you pass the time. The Hanover place is an outlet at the processing plant where some of the company's products are made. They sell Hannover things (frozen and canned veg) as well as some other brands that honestly? I've never heard of but the quality seems pretty decent and the prices are unbelievable. You have to watch the dates. And I guess some of the items are 'mistakes' (the gal at the register was removing the wrong labels from some cans and replacing them with the right ones this morning while we were shopping). Kayj--If it's too hot for much of anything, IMO--it's DEFINITELY too hot for cleaning closets--you have my permission to put that off until a cooler day, LOL BLfenton--what fun. I need a course like that. I KNOW I'm not taking full advantage of mine. Sue--sounds like a lovely morning. Believe me, I wasn't complaining about getting rain--we really need it this year. It was just that we were out, got 'trapped' in Burger King for a while (and the power went out for a bit) then we had to fight our way home through the weather. Otherwise, I was delighted to see some. Have fun with the canning--now that the freezer's arrived, I plan to get busy filling it with summer's bounty so we're set for this winter.

It is a bright sunny morning. A little cool out at 42. It is suppose to get up to 64, but the wind is suppose to kick in too.
We will go to church and then back home to just piddle around some with this and that today.

46 and dreary. I'm doing a little Spring cleaning early. Plan on scrubbing down the Master bath today then will just tidy up the rest of the house and make dinner. Maybe some laundry if I get to it.

It was 5 below this morning, but has warmed up to 8 above, and the sun is shiningf brightly, so not too bad. Just came from church, with no plans for the day.

Cold, 23 ABOVE-- still several inches of snow on the ground and roads interesting.. Winter just got delayed this year.

5 below?! We haven't seen those type of temps all winter. This morning is snowed alot, practically a white-out for awhile but now there are just flurries and 31 degrees. After I get my sink full of dishes done I think I might run into JCPenneys for something new. Probably come home empty-handed as usual, it's so hard for me to find anything I really like.

Forecasted high of 86 (not a typo). So. CA.

Schoolhouse, I went to JCP yesterday, first time since their new pricing. Honestly, I did not feel the prices were good. If I remember correctly, the Alfred Dunner polyester slacks were about $40. Not a deal to me. I hope you have better luck than I did!

Cold and it snowed here too, just a light dusting. Lauren and I ran to the store to get some milk and sausages for pancakes. We celebrated Sola's birthday yesterday, spending half the afternoon and night in Lexington, playing laser tag and then bowling. Four kids stayed the night.

We both went to Krogers in our pjs, I stayed in the car and Lauren went in. She didn't feel like changing just to run in for 2 items and I guess some middle aged woman dressed in a pencil skirt and fur coat didn't like the way Lauren was dressed. (WHO wears THAT in L-burg KY?!) She gave her a dirty look and Lauren smiled at her, and the "lady" just sneered back at her. I told Lauren she was going to end up on the website "People of Kroger". LOL!

I have to shower now and go grocery shopping and fill my gas tank up. I dread both.

a bit of a wind here today. Had snow during the night about 32 degrees here. I went to church at 11 and then stayed for the brunch afterward.

socks, just got back. The womens dept of our Pennys is about three racks. How disappointing. I did find two v-neck t-shirts for $6 each, wanted brown but they were all out in my size so ended up with grey which is one of my fav colors. I don't care for all those weird and wild colors and patterns on most womens wear and the styles sure don't flatter my shape. If I could I'd shop the junior's dept where all the fun stuff is. ;)

At 3:11 it's 60 degrees and really windy. The sun is shining though. Had thunderstorms in the night but everything's dried out now.

Harry's watching college basketball and I'm getting ready to peel and devein shrimp for dinner tonight. It's a lazy Sunday at our house.

Cold overnight and woke to a light dusting of snow. Sunny off and on but cool temps (-3C).

Went out and bought some chicken breasts that were on sale for $1.99 (today and tomorrow special), and picked up some other things while we were at it.

I'm getting ready to make some bran muffins, then I'll roast some veggies for our orzo salad while the oven is still hot.

We had snow all morning and early afternoon. We have about 3 inches of fresh powder. I am in a winter wonderland.
