What's for dinner Friday?

Today was grocery day. Publix was wall-to-wall people with children. And, of course, "old people". I can't wait to become one of "those" so I feel entitled to leave my cart in the aisle with no apologizes. LOL!

Dinner tonight is a Publix sub--Boar's Head turkey, bacon, guyere cheese and cranberry relish on a wheat roll. Great price of $5.99 for a whole sub. Also picked up some macaroni salad, so that's dinner tonight.

My gourmet meal was a burger on a sesame seed bun with some lightly cooked onions and a couple slices of home grown tomato on top. Also had a nice plate of green beans and shellie beans cooked with bacon and onion and seasoned with salt and pepper. Milk to drink.

Not worth mentioning.

Tried out a new buffet, while delivering a present for GS to give to his dad.

Been there, won't go back!

I also wish more restaurants would offer half portions or something similar. I'm not sure about dinner yet. It's 8pm & DH is working an hour & a half away. He'll probably end up grabbing something on the way home. In that case, I'll just make myself a sandwich & have some fruit & yogurt. I have enough stuffed pepper mix to make a batch tonight, but I've had a headache for several hours & don't really feel like doing that. It's actually supposed to be sunny here tomorrow. I'm trying to get some household things done in spite of the headache so I can spend some time at the pool tomorrow.

We went to Richmond today to look at some counter top slabs........ Went to lunch at a restaurant my hairdresser recommended last night. Good Italian food. DH was very pleased. We had fried calamari to share, he had lasagna and I had three mushroom stuffed ravioli and we shared an apple croustade topped with vanilla bean ice cream. On top of all that, you could choose from their special pasta menu for two pastas to take home. all that for $40.00. I have two orders of spaghetti and meatballs sitting in the fridge for tomorrow night. Isn't that grand? I'm playing catch-up on the weary body after the beginning of this week. LOL

Oh, Patti, and here I was complaining about my overly busy day and how tired I was............and mine was nothing like yours. Rest well. Glenda, they opened a deli in my small town. I guess it's been there for a while, but I'd not heard of it. My 4 sisters and I went there today. They got chicken salad on a croissant, but I got a roast beef. You got a choice of potato salad or soup, and your choice of coffee, tea or pop. The sandwiches were all huge and none of us could eat more than half. I lucked out. I not only brought home my half sandwich but one of my sisters as well. So my evening meal was free. Shirley

It was a beautiful day here today but I was busy cleaning out my closet so the contractor can work on it while we are away. We're headed for the outer banks on Sunday and unbeknownst to DH I'm having my closet ripped out, painted, rebuilt and new carpeting. If you don't hear from me in a while, I might be looking for a new place to live. LOL We're going out for dinner tonight and then we are going to see Spamelot. I could really use the time at home but we got the tickets weeks ago. I'm sure it will be fun

Glenda, don't you hate that when it happens? Usually happens at a Chinese buffet for us. Lesson: Don't ever have a late lunch at a buffet. Dried out meat and most sides are mush. Someday Harry and I will learn that lesson :-(

Tonight a very simple meal
Hamburgers (sure they will be huge) and homemade onion rings

I left here at Noon to go grocery shopping but wound up at Chico's and T.J. Maxx also. Oh and Big Lots and a fabric store, Trader Joe's and then the rest of the groceries. I didn't get home until 5:45. DH wanted to go out for dinner but I was too tired to. I meant to bring home a roast chicken but forgot to do that. Guess I'll just have left over fried rice.

I put together another of those fabulous chicken pot pies to die for and it is smelling so good right now. If my husband does not get home soon I will start dinner with out him.
