Good day at the Salvation Army!

Today being Wednesday, and therefore Family Day at the Salvation Army (everything half price except for one color tag), I stopped by when I was in town today. I was looking mainly for a lightweight jacket, and I found a beauty by Columbia--pale yellow and navy. I love Columbia stuff, and this looks almost new. It was at half price: $12.50.

I have a black Lands' End Squall Parka that I've enjoyed wearing for 9 or 10 years, but it's starting to look tired. (I am, too.) So when I ran across the exact same one, in my size, in red, I snatched it up. I paid full price for it ($9.99) because it had a white tag.

I can't remember the last time I owned a raincoat, but now I do. I found a lovely London Fog hooded raincoat, roomy and pretty in a light blue-green with cream cuffs and trim. Half price at $12.50.

Oh, and I also picked up two pairs of flattering jeans, including the black I've been looking for: $2.00 each. I spent more than twice what I usually do at the Salvation Army, but I'm happy with all my purchases.

My other bargain for today was a very nice soft-sided cat carrier on wheels. I got it via Craigslist for $5.

This is my idea of shopping!

How are the KT's other thrifty shoppers doing?
