Doone, sorry I missed your question. I saw a picture of the front of the chair in a book called, "Artists in their Gardens." I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that they used lathe. I took a class last summer on hollow (lathe) concrete sculpture from a local artist named Lynn DeNino (I think Dena has taken the class from her at one time, too). You basically lay patties of your cement mixture onto the lathe and let it relax into the diamond mesh so you end up with a strong armature. Then you go back over it with a thin veneer of the same stuff to fill in the gaps and make it smooth. You can make very strong thin walls this way. I'm sure L&L also use admixtures in their mixes but I haven't experimented with any of that yet. Lynn suggested something called Milestone. Deb

I enjoy that site too and set up a shop in December so take a look. I have a few of my smaller cement leaf castings there and some driftwood windchimes. Tsk, I wish they had a "garden art" section -- that would be nice.

Hey Ladies!!! Haley sent me a message and I've been meaning to come say hello. I am just so busy these days, I can hardly check FB even - which is where I keep up w/ most friends and family anymore. I miss the KT so much, I really do. It's just hard to get everything done. I have a 9 month old baby girl, Ada, and you all probably remember Bradley. He's 5 1/2 now and has started Kindergarten. Fun and busy times!!! I will try to do better about stopping in over here, I've been wanting to check some other GardenWeb sites b/c I'd like to garden again this year. I missed last year, having a newborn. Glad to see you all remember me! Thanks for asking about me. And if you do FB please friend me. I am friends with Jo Ann and a few others on here. Talk to you soon! Ginger

Well, durn! That's all I need - another place to spend hours just "browsing"! LOL Thanks bunches, Lydia! LOL
