neat site and ideas

I just discovered www.etsy.com

It's a site like eBay but only for handmade items to be bought and sold. First I went thru all the ornament and decoration section. Hundreds of pages, took me two days.

Looks like a good place to sell things, and I already made my first purchase. But also got some ideas. One is a gal mosaicing Xmas balls.

Carmen, after you post your information in the blank message box, you then click on the preview message... under the preview of your message, under the submit message button, you will see an area that says "You may use this form to make corrections:" under the message box, you will see two boxes... one says. "Optional Link URL:" and that is where you cut and paste or type the url and the other says.. "Name of the Link:" so type in the name of the link! thank hit preview message and when the next page comes up hit submit! I usually click on my link before I hit submit just to make sure it works and that I put the right address in.

I liked this review from lydia's link above. If you are the type of person who go for banner ads that said "congratulations! you won!" than this is for you. yes it is more of a scam than an auction, winning those are pretty much impossible. It's really no auction, since the seller owns the site and just runs the amount up, collecting $.60 cents with every (foolish) bid placed. Their auctions (???) are often extended to run the prices up some more. That's silly to have to pay to bid and then get nothing in return.

WOW. I cannot thank you enough for that link. I am frugally furnishing a Florida nest from scratch. I was about to reupholster a pair of otherwise perfect small sofas, just because their color was a dusky salmon rose. Now I see there are literally dozens of ways to embed those pieces into a palette that has some lighter and clearer, cleaner tones. ...I selected dozens of palettes and narrowed those down to 5 that I like very much that just may work with everything else in the house. Who knew my dusty, salmon rose could work great with: ---pale aqua blue + tan + charcoal grey + spring green ---pale blue + pale sage + pale lavender + bright tangerine ---pale celedon + light and dark violet + gray ---spring green + olive + medium lavender + apricot I am very happy. And intrigued how she picks the colors out of the nature photos. Thanks again!!

I've got a shop on Etsy for several months now. If you're not familiar with it, you should check it out. Loads of great artists there. However, I do not recommend the forums there though.

Yes, it is a good site. I've been selling my unique beach glass-inspired wind chimes and garden art there for over a year (search 'tsk'), with pretty good sales.

I enjoy that site too and set up a shop in December so take a look. I have a few of my smaller cement leaf castings there and some driftwood windchimes. Tsk, I wish they had a "garden art" section -- that would be nice.
