I know I'm going to get blasted for this one but here goes anyway....it's probably best to cover up your cleavage unless you are young and wrinkle free. Before all of you jump all over me for my comment remember , Petra said, "I feel self conscious about wearing low cut shirts because of the vertical wrinkles.
So the question she asked was what should she do about the wrinkles. Answer...cover the cleavage, LOL.

I hope my answer didn't hurt your feelings. I'll be 56 in a month. I don't have wrinkles on my chest but I stopped showing my cleavage long ago. I don't find "mature cleavage" appealing. That's just my opinion.

IME what you are talking about is most common among people who were/are sunworshippers and/or smokers. I think it is a bell that can't be unrung.

If it really bothers you I would see a dermatologist and see what you can do (laser, etc.). Use cream at night and a lotion with SPF everyday (there are many body creams/lotions with 15-30 SPF now).

Maybe collagen would work.

I've never been one to show off my chest. When I was younger, I was nearly flat. I wore a size 32 "training bra" for years. When I got pregnant (at 35) I finally had some breasts , but I didn't show them off. I probably should have. As I got older, middle aged, then into my 50's I never had nice "cleavage." But I found a 32 B cup bra that fit me so nicely it held me up and made me (Finally ) look good. But I didn't show off. I have always worn high-cut tops. I think a nice collar looks better than showing skin. Now that I'm officially "older" (I'll be 58 tomorrow) I have wrinkles where my cleavage should be. I thought it was sun damage, as most wrinkles are. I don't do anything except shower, bathe and spray on a little perfume. Let the younger girls show off their "assets".

Yikes, I hope I didn't give the impression that I run around in low-cut, plunging tops. I don't wear those and never have. I like to wear modest v-cut blouses or t-shirts and the lines are visible anyway.

No, I am neither a sun worshipper nor a smoker. I am very fair-skinned and don't tan, so there was no point to fry in the sun. I assume these wrinkles are caused by being somewhat well-endowed and being a side-sleeper, at least that's what I've read.

I was hoping someone here might have the same issue and might have found something that works or at least improves the lines, but I guess not.

Petra I'm 57 and just started noticing the same problem. I dress conservatively but with a very short neck I find anything but a scoop neckline annoying. My wrinkles at this point are because of crepe skin that happens when "mature" skin begins to lose moisture. I find a dab of moisturizer on the cleavage area really helps.

ya knoooooooooooow............ here's my take. Who cares if you have chest wrinkles? If you want to wear a scoop neck or v-neck top, WEAR IT. You probably earned every line on your body, right? And it's more likely just a sign of (ack!) aging than it is anything else. I've seen some people wear things they really shouldn't be wearing (has anyone seen The People of Walmart's website?), so if the only thing you're showing are a few lines below the neck, big deal. Show them. In the meantime, use a good lotion when you get out of the shower. It may or may not help. It could just be genetics.

I would try the same moisturizer you use on your face/neck. I would think it's just older dryer skin so a moisturizer may help.

I find a V neck cut in a top is flattering on many women including myself. I don't like showing a lot so I often wear a cami or tank under my shirts to take away some of the cleavage effect. It leaves a little dip but not that much to really show cleavage.

Jodi, that is precisely why I prefer v-necks or scoops, my face is round and my neck is on the short side. V-necks or scoops just look better on me. And I mean normal v or scoops, nothing that plunges way low.

I vote for V-necks also. Yep, I am "well endowed" and if I wear a high collar or a higher rounded collar all I see are these big watermelons underneath my shirt. The V-neck seems to create an optical illusion of being smaller.

So far, I haven't noticed any wrinkles - yet.

Carla, didn't see your post before I posted. I do use the same moisturizers on my neck/chest as I do on my face, but it doesn't seem to make a difference, so far. But I'll keep it up, it can't hurt.

Here's my story....... I am 50, overweight, smoker and I sleep on my back. I am very well endowed and I have "lines" too. I cannot and will not wear high necklines. Drives me nuts, anything near my neck. I wear round necklines and V necks all the time.. But at 50 years old I don't mind the lines, just part of life.

I am more than "somewhat" well endowed, and I am a side sleeper. I am 61, but when I was young, thin, and very cute, I was most definitely a sun worshiper, including sunbathing topless (in my back yard or on beaches that allowed it).

I don't have any chest wrinkles at all. It must be a genetics thing, because I'm not the best at slathering lotion all over myself.

Your chest wrinkles may just be something you have to accept and learn to live with.

I got a chest wrinkle, when I was about 26, by wearing a low cut blouse, a push up bra and getting a sunburn. I couldn't believe it happened just from that one time. Anyway, that is the only one I have and I am 64 now. Oh, wait...let me go look in the mirror...................oops, I was wrong. I have two and a tiny one starting in the middle. Heck, I don't look for stuff like that any more...but I remember not being too darned pleased about it when I was 26.

I just started noticing them recently, and I am 51 and a D cup, I don't smoke, but was a sun worshipper in my youth and when I started golfing I wasn't too good about sunscreen on my chest. I find they stick around for a couple hours, then go away. But I am a stomach sleeper, so maybe mine aren't as deep as yours. I like Debby Ab's suggestion--who cares? You may be self conscious, but in reality nobody really cares about your chest wrinkles. They probably don't even notice them.

Sleeperblues, they aren't deep yet, that's why I was hoping to find a solution before they get worse. I guess aging changes take time to accept and get used to.

I'm 31 and I already have a few fine lines there myself. I notice it's always more pronounced in the morning and I sleep on my side too so the girls are squashed together all night. So...I do think that the side sleeping might be a factor.

I always wear scoop or v neck shirts too but don't wear push up bras so I never have actual cleavage. I'm not too worried about it, there's not a whole lot to be done so oh well.

Sun worshiper until my early 40s. Literally lived in bikinis as a teen. So I think a lot of it must be genetics. I don't have much in the way of crows feet or facial wrinkles either though I do notice my skin is thinner and a bit more "crepey" especially on my arms.

I never wore scoop necks and vees. My shoulders are narrow and they never worked for me.

I guess all my chins have covered them up I'll have to look in the morning!! I think after a bath my whole body is full of wrinkles!!! (Just kidding) If there are wrinkles don't let them bother you.

Well, my mother died when she was 53, back in 1970, so I can't check with her. Don't recall ever seeing chest wrinkles on her, though. She had only one sibling, a sister 7 years older, who died in 1979 (and my maternal grandmother died in 1966).

My maternal grandmother died in 1981; one of Daddy's sisters died in 1975 the other in 1983.

I have only two female first cousins - one on my mother's side and one on my father's (one of his sister's daughter), but if genetics factors in this, their fathers' families' genetics would affect them, so that rules them out.

When I see my two sisters on Thanksgiving, I'll take a look at their chests. :-)

I'm 55 and have been way too well endowed since I was about 10. I do sleep on my side most of the time (because of back problems) but I don't have chest wrinkles. I think it might be genetic in my case as I only have a few wrinkles otherwise.

My mom had the most beautiful skin. She was a farm wife and spent long hours in the sun and was pretty tan all summer as a young woman, and she didn't do anything to take care of her skin, but it remained beautiful. I remember, when she first was in the nursing home at about age 84, one of the nurses commenting to her that she must always have stayed out of the sun to have such nice skin. Mom just laughed and laughed at that one.

I had them really bad,started using castor oil and hardly see any now.The best thing castor oil did was get rid of the brown spots on my chest.good luck

I don't recall if my mother or grandmother had any chest wrinkles, but I agree it might be genetic. A friend of mine who is just a few years older than me has vertical lip lines though she never ever smoked.

I'm a DD and a side sleeper as well. I noticed a while back that I was starting to get the upper chest wrinkles. I started using a very mild scrub on my face and also use it on my neck and chest now. I also started using neutrogena wrinkle reducer every day. It has definitely helped. I'm not sure that I was getting them from sleeping on my side. I'm fair skinned, use sunscreen and never smoked. Maybe you could try a 'sleeping bra' and then stuff a pair of socks between the girls. That might keep them in place when you are on your side.
