I have 2 in the LR (mine and his) We don't have a family room. 1 in the bedroom and 1 outside.

My only TV is in the living room.

We don't have a den or family room.. so we do have a TV in the living room. The only other TV upstairs is the one in the master bedroom. When we added on the all season sunroom everyone said I should put a TV in there.. but I didn't. It's a place to 'get away' from the TV.

Yep, a 62" HDTV. Most of our entertaining is outside when we host several block parties a year. The only time we socialize inside is New Year's Eve when we host a progressive dinner party and the dessert and champagne is at our place. Everyone is gathered around the TV to watch the ball drop in Time's Square.

Yes, one of our two 23 inch tv's is in the living room which is just inside the front door and next to the kitchen. The other is in a guest bedroom. But in a very large room in the back of the house that some would consider a "family" room, there is no tv. It is the room where we play games, read, relax, listen to cd's or the Bose radio or socialize with guests.

Lydia, I agree with you on the Sunroom. When we put the hot tub in there, DH suggested a TV - I said no, just a radio. It's my room to read and relax.

I put a TV in the living room for the first time this year. I was reluctant to do it at first, not because of socializing but because I was afraid something so sleek and modern would be glaringly at odds with my rustic old farmhouse. Also, I've never been a big TV watcher. But when I received a year's worth of Netflix as a gift, I figured it was time. I purposely bought a modest-sized model (32"), and my son-in-law mounted it on the wall for me (but not over the fireplace). I love it!

As for socializing, I think it's important to keep in mind that just because you have a TV doesn't mean you have to turn it on. :-)

We don't have a tv in the living room but we also don't use that room...I'm considering moving my office to that room. We have a 65" 3D HDTV in the family room. We have televisions in most rooms.

I'm with you, Monica. No TV in the living room. Our dining area is at the end of the living room so that whole room is for conversation. We have a TV in the Florida room and both bedrooms. That's plenty for our little villa.

We have a formal living room which is never used no tv in there, the den or family room is where we live and yes we have our 58" plasma in there and absolutely love it and it is on pretty much from the time we get up till we go to bed, sound may not be up but I like to leave it on with the sound if we leave so the dog hears people and also if some one peeks in to break in they will see the tv on and think some one is in there.

I also have a large tv in my office and a small one in our master bedroom. I rarely use those.

We have a huge sun room and most of the time if someone drops by we entertain in there.

I forgot to answer the question. Yes I have a 42 inch LCD in my living room. The first night I had it I lost sleep thinking it was to big. Got up the next AM turned it on...naw, it's not to big at all. LOL

I have one in the living room....no fancy living room for me.

Yep, we only have one tv and it's not even a wide-screen plasma!
It's a 32 flat screen but bulky style in the wall unit.

Yes. We don't have a separate family room. I'm with Susan - just don't turn it on if you don't want to watch. We usually hang out in the dining room or play board games when we entertain.

Our only televisions are housed in cabinets in the bedrooms.

No TV in the living room but we rarely use it. 65 " flat screen in the keeping room, a built in in the kitchen ,another flat screen in the sunroom. None in the bedrooms. The sunroom is the man cave. I never see him. He watches football, and I watch DWTS and other girlie shows.

I have 4 bedrooms, a living room and a sun room - all with big t.v.s! I don't have one in the kitchen only because I can watch the living room t.v. from the kitchen.

Although I don't watch a lot of t.v., I have Grandsons and a Son who play video games, so we also have a game system hooked up to each t.v. - I can't operate any of the 'gaming' features! LOL

No, our TV is in the bedroom. DH likes to fall asleep watching TV, so that's where it ended up.

I live in a senior apartment and I have a tv in the living room kitchen bedroom and bathroom.Also I have phones in each of these rooms.I'm living like a king and enjoying every moment of it.Can't take it with you and I want everything at my reach so I won't break my neck or eyesight doing so.

Yup, ours is in the living room. We don't have a family room or den, nor have we ever desired to watch tv in bed. I can understand your point about socializing, but we just don't turn it on when there are visitors.

No television in my living room. One in the family room and one in each of our bedrooms. There was a time when not having a family room we did have one in the living room but no more. I think if you have company come, you should visit, not sit around and watch television. I only have my television on about one hour during the day time and do most of my watching in the evening in my room.

We have one in the family room, the sewing room and each bedroom. DH really wanted one in the living room, but I wouldn't give in on that. Every once in a while though, I watch TV in the living room on my iPad. But then I can put it away afterwards.

Not in the living room. In our family room. And much to my chagrin, one in the bedroom. DH just HAD to have it there and needless to say, he turns it on for 10 minutes before he is ready to sleep! lol

When my son was young, he tried to weasel a tv for his room and there was NO WAY we were EVER going to put one in his room NO WAY! lol

Wow! 58", 65", 68" you guys must have HUGE rooms to have a tv that large! I can't imagine! lol I have some friends that mounted their flat screen above the fireplace and it is VERY uncomfortable to watch. You have to hold your head at quite an angle to see it. ouch!

No. I hate visiting someone with the TV on and it seems a lot of people never turn theirs off even when guests are over.

My tv is in the great room - I don't have a formal living room. I can see the tv from my kitchen. No tv in the bedroom - listen to the radio in there at bedtime.

Not in the living room (that room in the front of the house that we never use) but one in the den (this is the one we tend to watch together and our kitchen overlooks the den, so its good to watch while cooking), one in the great room (used primarily by DH) and one in mbr.

I only own one TV. Currently it is in the living room. I will never have one in the bed room.

My bedroom is for sleeping. :)
