Good idea. My beautician said that Black Friday is being called Grey Friday this year because shopping is down.

I got an email this morning that said American Eagle is going to have free shipping and 25% off on Thanksgiving Day only.

Aputernut what are the origins of your kings? They are magnificent!! DH and I took a trip to Bronner's this fall. #1 on my bucket list was a visit!! I am sooo embarrassed and feel so STUPID. I was not interested in the video of the history as I knew it and saw much on Youtube, so avoided the "Program room". I did peak in at one point and it was dark as a show was going on...The next day, an hour outside of Frankenmuth I began reading their literature. To my GREAT frustration I discovered in that dark room are cases of 150+ nativities from 50+ different countries!! I have been begging and the Bronner's Facebook page has begun posting pictures of some of them. Unfortunately they do not post as many Creche sets as they do ornaments. But they are not for sale--they are a private collection so I get it. ANYWAY I added a camel and cow to my outdoor set..and I am scouring ebay for a few more shepherds..there are some older characters out there I would love to get my hands on!! We also went to one large spot light. DH is very into cutting our wattage use DOWN. I have a star hanging on the back of the light pole, and we have enough snow to cover the blue extension cord so it is all very nice IMHO

We did our Black Friday shopping at Kohl's online earlier today. Bought a new comforter set for the new bedroom set we bought last month for our guest room. If you buy $75 or more it was free shipping. The comforter set was $69 so we bought a much needed 1 qt sauce pan for $16. Used the free shipping code and I found another code for 15% off so the total bill was about $95. We got free shipping but because the comforter set is large, we had to pay a surcharge of $7.50 or so. Where ever you order from, Google the store name and the words Coupon Code and you will find other deals out there to bring the cost down. Jodi-

kathy-- doesn't that make you so darned mad??? I had been ready to place an order with Eddie Bauer with a coupon code, but nowhere on the screen did it mention that the discount would be applied BEFORE the card was charged. So I nixed the order and sent E.B. an email stating my problem. Never heard back from them. I've placed an incorrect order (Williams-Sonoma) before, and even though I called customer service immediately after, I was told they couldn't promise me a correction. Sure enough, no correction. Another email to company, and nothing.

Here are some Kohl's deals:

Cardholders only can use NOV15PICK for 15% off, then stack code MVC5657 for free shipping. Both codes are good till 11/30. I used them both yesterday so I know they work.

Non-cardholders can use code HOLIDAY3416 till 12/3 for 10% off.

Everybody gets the bonus $10. coupon for every $50 they spend until the 29th.

Coupon codes are good on everything I think.

I ventured out to the malls yesterday. Prices are being slashed on everything. Lots of fifty percent off sales. Christmas decorations are on sale already! Nobody is buying stuff.

Free shipping at Lands End. They do this a lot; they'll announce Free Shipping for three days only, and the day after it ends it'll be back again. But I'm not complaining--I love Lands End Overstocks, and I love free shipping.

So far I've bought faux shearling gloves in forest green and matching pull-through scarf for my DIL, and these boots for me. The white "fur" won't stay white very long, but I like the pull-on style and need something to trudge to work this winter. And the price was certainly right.
