I agree! I absolutely can not go to sleep if my feet are cold! On the other hand, I can't sleep if the room is too warm! I like a heating pad for my feet, a cold room, and lots of blankets! Daytime, I prefer to have the room a little warmer.

I read about some research (they research almost everything now) that indicated most people do better with their sleeping at night when the room is cooler. It has to do with the internal body temps that change from being up and around to being prone and at rest.

Our programmed thermostat is set for 63 beginning at 9:00 p.m. And 70 at 6:30 a.m.

The one true thing I heard Dr. Oz say is that it's hard to fall asleep if our feet are cold. I like my electric mattress pad for the foot of the bed (and before I had that, the electric full-mattress pad). but I like the room to be cool--cold, even. I can't imagine turning the heat up at night; I always turn it down.

My bed room is unheated, but the woodstove is under the floor register. I have a thick cloth covering the air register so my bedroom doesn't get overheated. Even so, the room is pretty warm when I go to bed, gradually cooling overnight. Last year I gave away my favorite down comforter because it was just too hot.

I'm like most of you....the heat is turned down at night. I turn on my electric blanket while I'm going through my bedtime routine, which takes the chill off the bed before I get in, and shut it off after reading for a few minutes.

The very first thing I do when I get up is turn up the heat!

Our gas forced air heat is set at 68F during the day and 63F at night. We close our BR door and crack one window. We use a blanket and down comforter. I turn on my under-the-mattress-pad electric blanket to warm my side of the bed and turn it off once I'm tucked in and cozy. No reading in bed unless I'm sick. It would be too cold for me in winter anyway!

I also can't sleep when my feet are icicles. On colder nights, I put the heating pad on my side of the bed near the bottom and turn it on high. I leave it on while we're reading then unplug and remove it when we're ready to sleep. By then I am comfortable and don't have to wake up in a sweat, which gives me nightmares.

I keep the window open a bit and the heat way down (52) even through the coldest winter night--and it is Minnesota! I guess we are pretty hardy types :) Love my layers of flannel sheets, wool blanket, thick down comforter, and two cats who curl up under it all and next to me.

The only time I really feel cold is mid to late day if I'm home all day. That must be a "low" body temperature period.

I still have our bedroom wide open all the way. It's a cold wind coming in over my face, so I just keep my nose out.

I can't sleep either with cold feet, so when my feet are really cold I'll put on socks. They come off at some point during the night.

Also hubby has got a high temperature, so I snuggle up to him when I'm cold, he's like one big heating blanket. I don't stay too long, though, because then I get too hot!

When we worked the election last month, it was chilly in the school aud, and when one of the workers went around and introduced herself and shook hands, his hand was so warm (as it always is) and she grabbed his hands to warm hers up. I should hire him out. :-D

I sleep hot so I like a cool room at night. I always have the ceiling fans on and I have a small table fan on my side blowing directly on me, I also have a big stand fan that may or may not be on. I currently am keeping the thermostat set at 66 heat. I don't like cold feet or hands I have some really thick sock slippers from bed bath and beyond that I wear during the day but I can't wear socks in bed it bothers me.
I don't like heavy covers, I have the sheet a very light weight fleecy type blanket (just put on Monday night) and the matelasse quilt coverlet.
Occasionally if we get really cold weather I will swap out and put the light down comforter on instead.
But most of the night I kick the covers off. I wake up and the side without covers feels like ice so I warm it up for a while.
My poor husband is always freezing and tries to steal all the covers. We some times put a throw or blanket over the top of his side.

My little bitty dog is usually attached to me at the neck or side she appreciates my heat lol.

I do the same all year long. Temp is up and down.
I can't sleep if my feet are cold so I have socks right next to my bed. The electric blanket is my best friend all year long. I just love to be warm.

Socks on these feet also if they're cold, then off during the night usually. My favorite thing to do is to read a chapter or so of a book when I get into bed. Then when I'm ready to go to sleep, I snuggle down into the area that been's warmed by my "sitter downer".

I keep the furnace vent closed in my bedroom. I like the heat turned down to around 65 at night and then turn it up in the morning and go back to bed until it warms up. I have my electric mattress pad turned on only on the opposite side of the bed so my feet have a place to warm up. I sleep soundly if my feet are warm and the room is cool.
