My hair is only like that when my stylist does it. She puts smoothers and oils in it. Then she blows it out and uses the flat and/or curling iron.

There is also product for the very ends after styling. Sort of seals them. And shiner.

She doesn't always use all the products but she always uses at least 2.

I love my hair on those days. The rest of the time it hangs and separates. I don't have the patience to fuss with it.

My hair is like that. People are always touching it and saying I should do Pantene ads. I only use shampoo and conditioner. I don't use any products and only blow dry maybe twice a year. It's stick straight with absolutely no volume.

The downside is that it absolutely won't hold any curl or do anything except be straight or in a ponytail. I can put curlers all over my head and in 15 minutes it will be completely straight again.

It was nicer when I was a teenager. I'm finding as I'm getting older (I'm 29 now) I'm getting a little more wave to it and it's not quite as silky. I'm sure they use oil and other shiners plus flat irons for the commercials.

Boy, no one is happy with their hair. I'd give anything for stick straight hair. If I don't blow dry and flat iron my hair, it's nothing but ringlets and I'm not a ringlets kinda girl. I often wonder about those ads too.

Mine is like chi. Remember when Jennifer Anniston's hair was all the rage? People would ask me how I got my hair so straight. By washing it.

Lily, I would've killed to have curly hair like yours. Oddly enough, my oldest brother got the curls and the poking by other kids. Guess waves are the way to go (like Patrick Dempsey).

I asked my hair stylist that same question, although my obsession is with the "Kardashian" hair. My hair is blond and wavy... It'll never get that long, unfortunately. She told me that they use a shine oil, they flat iron and even the Kardashians use human hair extensions. Certain ethnic groups (Asian, Indian and Mexican/Spanish) for example, have individual hair strands that are naturally thicker, stronger, and the hair as a whole grows faster. Dark hair also reflects more light, so it looks super shiny and healthier. The majority of human hair extensions are Indian remy hair - the hair naturally grows faster. A lot of the commercials you see show dark hair for this reason. In the Garnier commercial with the blond, she more than likely has extensions, although if you have "virgin" hair (no color ever, no perm, wash every few days, no hot tools) you may be able to grow out blond hair. I just wear my extensions when I want long hair - it's too hard to take care of it when it's naturally long. LOL

My hair used to be stick straight and SO shiny and silky but as I've gotten older it's getting a little wavy and frizzy. Mine is also really fine and won't hold a curl unless it's plastered with hairspray, so I rarely do it as I hate product in my hair.

My stylist also uses shiner and stuff that smooths it out. She blow dries and flat irons it and it looks like those commercials. I can get it close myself but I don't have all the same products.

The only product I do like and use occasionally is an oil called Morroccan Oil. It's expensive but you only use a tiny bit. It's makes it really sleek and smells great.

They always use huge amounts of lights and most of the shades of color on the hair reflect light plus they have programs that add luster and shine. Not one ad I've see is totally the model's hair, most have extensions on. I can tell by the shape of their heads and the fact that most of them are not normal shapes but have a slight depth to them due to the extensions. Not everything is what it seems especially in photos.

I've always had 'heavy' hair. My hair is thick and is 'medium coarse'. Hairdressers like styling it, but not the time it takes to dry.

I admire the sleek black hair on the local women I see in Hawaii. Now THAT does look just like the hair in commercials: A single, flowing 'mane'.

I have very curly hair & wear it long, past my angel bones. I never blow dry my hair. I always use moroccan oil on my hair & it is well worth the price as you don't have to use much of it. It does make your hair shine & helps with the frizz in the summer.
