What's for dinner 10/6?

I got a bag of vegetable soup that I made a few weeks ago out of the freezer, so that's dinner for us? What are you having tonight?

Fried catfish, a baked sweet potato and some brussel sprouts. A cup of coffee and an apple fritter for dessert!

That ratio illustrates that, on average, plants use 1.5 parts of P and 7 parts of K for every 10 parts of N. The actual amounts of P and K that fertilizers supply are not what it says on the box. 10-10-10, for instance, is actually 10-4.3-8.3 after the factoring is done to account for the fact that P is reported as P2O5 (phosphorous pentoxide) and K is reported as K2O (potassium oxide). That's the background ...... what's important is, after the factoring is done for 3:1:2 ratio fertilizers, you'll find that they supply actual amounts of NPK in a ratio almost exactly that of the average ratio of nutrients plants use. 18-6-12 would be exactly a 3:1:2 ratio, so your CRF is pretty spot on in that regard. The only drawback to using it is, you relinquish control of when nutrients are supplied to your plants. Oh Patti!!!!! I was going to post a question about dumplings!!! The other day hubby was saying that when he was a kid, his mom made chicken and dumplings. Then he moved to the states as an adult, ordered it, and these wet balls were served. I told him that's what dumplings are! He said his mom would put them on top of a chicken casserole and bake in the oven and they would get crisp. I said those were biscuits and dumplings are white and fluffy and get boiled with chicken, covered and you don't peek. He thought they were gross, but those are my fondest memories of my Nan, making chicken and dumplings. I would love to have some!!!!!

even thou i was vegetarian all thru my 20's i had never had an artichoke! i first had one (steamed w/ drawn butter dip) about 10 yrs ago in an italian restaurant and i loved it. i get into these stages where i eat one thing alot then get tired of it. so far this one's going on 6 months LOL but it is very healthy 60 cal. 6g fiber and i eat it w/o dipping, just plain. it's also something easy i can make, i fill a small pan w/ about 1-1.5c water and a slice of fresh lemon, bring to a boil then steam for about 45-60 min. not exact, usually when i remember it LOL. luckily we have a produce market 2 mi away and he sells nice sized artichokes for $0.69-$1.25 ea v/s publix for $3.99 often which when i can't get at the market i will get just 1 in a wk. i always eat that first and it fills me up nicely then i eat the rest of my meal. it also FORCES me to slow down, a problem i have while eating :-/ and eat each leaf then clean up the heart. i am trying trying trying to eat mostly veggies, chosing high protein healthy foods to lose weight :-) ~ liz

BLT's if I can find some good lettuce in that bundle. If not, BT's sandwich.

You guys always eat better than we do but DH always has a big lunch. Easy on dinner.

my daily steamed artichoke (i'm into them right now lol), cucumber, dill & lt sour cream salad, those nearly filled me up and i had a few bites of a grilled burger. ~ liz

I was going to have leftovers from Bob Evans, but alas I asked my sister to hold mine for a few minutes. When I got back, she accidentally gave me hers. *sob* Oh, well, I'm telling myself it was too many calories anyway and that I was better off just eating a half a sandwich for supper.

I made us Loaded Baked Potato soup. It's delish. I'm trying to tempt my Dad's appetite who has been sick and lost a lot of weight.
