Been on a shopping spree, so off I went.

Today I went to a Decorator's Showcase House with some friends and we had lunch out after which we went shopping. DH gets the leftovers from our dinner last night and if there's any left for me, that's what I will have otherwise, a bowl of cereal. By the way, the new restaurant we tried last night was very good.

One of my favorites: ham, green beans, and potatoes. I think I could eat this at least once a week.

It's been a beautiful day here in my part of Ohio. Sunshine, temps in low 70s. And knowing that once the rain moves in tomorrow night, the temps are to take a big drop for several days......I'm totally enjoying today.

Lamb Chops! My lifelong favorite. My mother once convinced me that I was NOT seasick crossing the Atlantic in a small ship in a gale by reminding me that lamb chops were on the menu in the dining room.

Glenda, our leftovers wouldn't make a very good soup--leftover spaghetti, grits, meatloaf (which is probably bad), and chicken salad. :-) I need a shopping spree, 'cept I hate shopping!

Georgysmom, did you get any good ideas when the showcase house? I would love to have some help with my decorating. I have no knack for it and my idea is the less stuff sitting around the less there is to dust :-)

We had pot roast, baked potatoes, cole slaw and applesauce

If it's Thursday, it's broiled salmon in a ginger/wasabi sauce with capers and asparagus for dinner.

I made a BIG pot of potato soup. Purchased french bread & real butter. Gonna top the soup with grated cheese and croutons.

It's COLD outside.

Pork roast with pan roasted root vegetables preceded by a green salad made with some of my tasty garden tomatoes.

I notice we're all getting into the fall/winter meals. It was a hot and muggy 87 degrees out today, so pot roast will have to wait. Around 6:00 the skys opened up and we head a heck of a thunderstorm. LOTS of rain, too. We needed it.

Azzalea, didn't you make your own applesauce? Sure would be good with the roast.

Monica, we love salmon. Never thought of a sauce with wasabi, but we like that, too. Funny how that heat doesn't bother me but a jalapeno will just about kill me. :-) I love asparagus, but Harry doesn't think it tastes like much. Did you know the proper way to eat asparagus spears is with your fingers? Yep--'cause Martha Stewart said so.

Carol, did you roast the vegetables along with the meat or in a separate pan? I'm getting hungry for rutabaga and carrots roasted together with potatoes. My, you made me hungry again.

The proper way to remove the corky stems is by breaking with your fingers, but I can't imagine tossing my utensils to eat cooked asparagus, lol.

I roasted a chicken with some onions and carrots. Fixed a pot of Rice Select to go along with it.
