What's for Dinner, Thursday?

More snow and squalls today. Looks like one more day of snow, and then mild temperatures and rain are coming in. I shovelled this morning and will do so again tomorrow. I quite enjoy shovelling, and I like helping out the landlords.

I spiced some chicken breasts and sauteed them. Steamed/sauteed some broccoli and heated up the leftover roasted brussels sprouts. We didn't even have a starch, which is very rare.

I think you're the only person I know who says they enjoy shoveling snow. I'll bet the landlords really like your help.

I had ground turkey gravy over quinoa. Also, had steamed vegetables. Now nibbling on an apple.

I had the leftovers from last night's roast chicken. Now the bones are in a soup pot. Hubby had some chili from the pot he fixed for hunting camp.

Cold here, this morning it was 20 & did not get past 26 all day. We have not seen the sun since Sat, just clouds all day. Tonight hubby had BLT's & I had some bacon. Patti, I did not know what kind of Dr I was going to either. My Dr had to explain to me. My knee has its moments. My surgeon told me because of the 2 surgeries back to back it will take longer to heal. I try not to think of it so the knee is good. Thanks for asking.

Shirley, our weather is very similar, and today was nice, wasn't it? Your meal is nice and comforting. I couldn't imagine not having leftovers, or living with someone who doesn't like them. I know people like that, and it's a fresh meal every nite. Jim, how nice having tomatoes and green beans from the garden. Our tomatoes aren't even ripening yet. The landlords gave us a bunch of pole beans, which are long and flat and they went into the soup the other day. They were really good. Raven, was your dinner as good as it sounds?? Do tell. Pam, pizza is good anytime but I'm sure even more so, with your grandson Georgy ravioli with your marinara sauce would be awesome! Rhizo, hubby loves ordering BLT's for breakfast when we go out. Angela, I'll take my cool summer over your heat any day! But a chicken salad is perfect. OF, you must finally be happy! You got some summer temperatures. And you still put the oven on! :)

Soft foods...yuck!!! I had sinus surgery last Friday and still can't do any chewing for another week. I am sick of yogurt, broth, mashed potatoes, oatmeal, etc... My dream meal for tonight is a crusty sourdough baguette slice topped with olive tapenade. My entree will be a steak with sautÃÂ©ed mushrooms and a ceasar salad and more crusty bread! A big peanut butter cookie for dessert!

Same as yesterday -- Various snacks, cheeses, hors d'oeuvres, mini sandwiches, chocolate-dipped fruits, and brownies at a Christmas party. Yesterday was a retirement party for the head of the University Library where I work, today was a shindig put on by a large realty firm at which friends of ours work.

Well then head to Buffalo and enjoy.
Polished off the Lasagna. Four hot, simple delicious meals for $1.30 each was handy. Munching Reese Cups, but a bowl of Carmel Ice Cream sounds tempting.

Stuffed green peppers are in the oven for husband. I am having a large artichoke and some more of that cheese toast. Love that bread! I'm going to turn into a big butter / Parmesan ball if I don't quit making, and eating, it. Good thing the French bread is almost gone.

Still eating soft foods, but who's complaining? Leftover lentil soup with an added sandwich for Robert.

Jasdip, as a child growing up in the snowbelt of central NY, I enjoyed shoveling snow, too, though I was the only girl among three brothers. I get it! I also liked hoeing and weeding our huge veggie garden. I still like those kinds of activities, though I haven't had to shovel in about forty years, lol.

Deeby, I cooked a large ham in my stock pot with green beans and potatoes. We love that all simmered together.

Kittie, a pot pie sounds wonderful. Did you make it from scratch?

Angela, at least you offset the cheese toast with an artichoke! LOL

OF, I know that Buffalo stadium was looking for about 500 people to shovel in time for the Bills Game. But they recanted that tonite and cancelled the game.

Phyllis, you and Old Fixer were on the same wave-length with your lasagnas.

Pam, we love roast chicken, and I always make broth from the roasted bones. Haven't attempted soup yet, though.

Shirley, our landlords do appreciate us. They tell us that, and they share their bounty from their garden with us, and let us use part of it to plant whatever we wanted.

Shirley you eat so well. Very healthy, and an apple to boot.
