I finally went to the doctor today.

Been feeling really crummy since I got back from California. I came down with a cold on Tuesday of our trip and we returned home on Friday. That was a month ago and I got tired of feeling yucky so I went to the doctor today. One prescription of antibiotics, and three inhalers.. Expect I'll be feeling better real soon. So glad I went! I have Mexican Train tonight, golf tomorrow, bridge tomorrow night, golf on Thursday, golf on Friday and my son is coming for the weekend. Needed to feel better than I do.

I hope you feel better soon. Most of my friends are battling some kind of virus that is going around and it seems to linger for a few weeks.

Very nice gardens and butterfly house. I finally visited in early november. They had lots of African ballon milkweed. Saw about a dozen monarchs in the garden area near the water display. Also where the balloon milkweed was. Houston area also getting lots of December caterpillars.

Waited 3 hours in eye doctor's office today

Could I ask if this was regular eye doctor, an eye specialist or an a eye super specialist? I ask because my husband has had appointments with one of Toronto's super specialists - appointments were booked for 9:00 a.m. and those in the know take lunch and dinner with them - they often turned into all-day events. But this specialist does Vitrectomies, detached retina eye surgeries, that type of thing and there aren't that many Toronto doctors who perform these surgeries. Most of the patients are diabetics - my husband is one of the few who is not, so on a first visit a person with diabetes has a problem with food. Food sharing then happens. Then we have the various levels of more junior eye specialists - some being too senior to do say cataract surgery so you are referred to a lower specialist. Quite the ordeal. The wait times differ depending on the specialist. The optometrist is very good - usually on time. She does Part 1 of the exam, then puts in the drops and has people return to the waiting room for a few minutes while she takes care of a few other matters and then is ready to see the patient with the drops as soon as the drops have done their bit. Of course with me, the drops burn off immediately and I never get blurry eyes. I think you should sleep on your letter and then decide what to do. Years ago I had to see a specialist - every time you would swear that you were in a bus terminal full of people. The receptionist would always tell people that the doctor had been called out on an emergency. So one day one of my fellow patients stood up and asked how many of us had an appointment booked for 5:00 p.m. - every hand in the room was raised. The receptionist looked scared - not her fault though. It is very common for a few people to have the same appointment time - I think doctors hope that some appointments will be quicker than others. Doesn't always happen though.

hahahaaa maybe I should have whipped out the phone and turned on the camera and asked her to strike a pose for me! She might have been thrilled. I mean if she didn't want that kind of attention why the heck was she dressed that way. The thing that still just strikes me as so strange is that she was a very pretty classy looking lady maybe in her 30's and from the waist up was dressed very nicely and her shoes had to be very expensive. I was just really glad at least she had the dark control top type so that part was not see through LOL Maybe she thought that counted as shorts !

It went from Live Oak to Tallahassee, with lots of nothing between, typical yard sale stuff. In town they had it in 3 parking lots, that was the more expensive items or dollar store type things. I went back today (alone) since other places joined in. I got a pair of shoes, a small wooden table, a ziplock bag full of thread and some other small stuff. The table stand looked like junk and I itched all the way home (bugs/spiders) but it cleaned up real nice and looks worth something now. I did it the fast way with Old English Scratch cover. I may paint it one day but its fine for now.

I hope that you get rid of your cold soon.

But don't bother passing it on here, please - I'm in the processing of shrinking an embolism in my lung(s) ... with rat poison.

So I'd just as soon avoid complicating factors, for the moment, if you don't mind.

The visiting murse says that it's some job convincing many, especially farmers, to start taking rat poison.

OJ, My husband has been taking rat poison for years in the form of Coumadin (not sure of the spelling) but he has to have his blood checked regularly. I hope they shrink the clot real soon. I'm feeling better already. The antibiotic is one that you take two pills the first day and one for the next four days.....quick acting and the inhalers are opening the airwaves quickly, too. The last time I ignored the aftermath of a cold, the infection settled in my lungs and it took six months to get better. You'd think I would know better by now.

Juellie, Mexican train is a dominoes game. You can learn it in about twenty-two nano seconds, but it's fun. Some strategy involved but not a whole lot.

Glenda, I'm trying to figure out how to post pictures so I can show you Georgy, but so far I've not been too successful. I've got them on photobucket but can't figure out how to transfer them.

Thanks everyone for your good wishes. I was feeling pretty punky this morning but tomorrow I will be up and at it on the golf course....68 and sunny.....perfect!

go to photobucket, find the picture you want to copy

move your mouse below the picture and there will be a pop up, right underneath the picture

you will see DIRECT LINK, MOVE YOUR MOUSE OVER IT, left click, and the link will become blue

right click on it and you will see copy, and right click and you will have copied the link

It will look like this when you get to the KT
You have to right click and click on paste and you will get this.

That's as far as I can help you, but if you can do that, you are one step closer to posting a picture.

Hollar at me when you have done that and then I can add the rest to your picture of Georgie so can be seen

I hope you feel better soon. I just started a cold yesterday and feel miserable, but I know it will pass soon. I love Mexican Train. It's a blast. You are a very busy lady!!
